The sandwiches are flavorful, but my disappointment lies in the fact that I spent over $30 on a sandwich with extra meat, which they claimed to weigh. However, the serving turned out to be subpar. I'm uncertain whether the scale is malfunctioning, but if you're in need of a substantial meal, I'd recommend exploring other options. Despite being a repeat customer, this experience marked a departure from the usual quality; the sandwiches have never been so thin in my previous visits. It appears that the establishment is going through challenging times.
Upon expressing my concerns, the owner responded with a generic reply, lacking any concrete solution and offering no contact information. When I showed the unsatisfactory sandwich to the staff, they seemed disinterested and almost dismissive. To exacerbate matters, they insisted on weighing the portions despite no visible scale during the preparation. Observing the sandwich-making process, it was evident that they blatantly lied about the weighing procedure, which was disheartening.
My primary concern isn't merely the quantity of meat but the breach of trust. The staff's dishonesty, claiming to weigh the extra portions I paid for, is unacceptable. The fast-paced environment seemed to compromise their commitment to accuracy. I fear a return visit might result in contamination of my food.
It's not solely about the meat; it's a matter of trust. The blatant lies undermine my confidence in the establishment. I'm willing to overlook many shortcomings, but dishonesty isn't one of them. The experience has made it uncomfortable to rectify an order, and opening the sandwich in front of them only emphasized the discrepancy.
To the owner: If you genuinely wish to address this issue, providing a means of contact is crucial. The lack of a direct response suggests a lack of concern, rendering the reply to a serious problem...
Read moreThis will always be my favorite sandwich shop. Roast beef trim, extra crispy, extra pep on the side.(i like some bites to be more spicy than others) and no cheese! The bread is one of my favorite parts. And let me tell you, this sandwich travels well, as in 1900 miles well, because when I moved away for a few years and was really homesick, a friend mailed me my fave sandwich. I just open faced it in the oven (I removed the tomatoes and majority of lettuce) for like 18 minutes at 375, and it was delicious! The meat even gets a little crispy at the edges.
Coming here for 30 years, and gosh darn it, I'll be coming here for 30 more!
Oh and I miss the table arcade, even though it was a glorified table for a long time because it stopped...
Read moreBest sandwich (any of them, really) you'll ever have, hands down. Place is legendary. Had the 'Original' just the way I like it today with extra pepperoccini and that sub was top notch today. Bread toasted to a perfection that gave it the crunch of a chip on the outer layer but still had the soft inner bread that soaked up the sort of vinegar/mustard sauce and flavors of the meats on the interior and a little extra chew/subtle taste from the mozzarella. Perfect ratio of meat and cheese to shredded lettuce, thinly sliced tomatoes, pickles, and a decent amount of sliced pepperoccini to balance out the meats and add a little kick to it. Definitely wasn't my first, and sure won't be my last...
