Very odd setup for a first visit. Walk in and there is tables and booths, so we wait at the front door to be seated. Nobody says a word for about 30seconds. My wife finally asks if we seat ourselves to the girl up at the front. She says we order first then take a seat... Ok. Little misunderstanding is all, but no greeting at all made it completely avoidable.
An oddity was it asked about a tip during checkout process and a tip jar exists when I'm literally having to order myself and refill my own drink. So what they want a tip to walk the 20feet from the kitchen to my table? š This trend of tipping for nonsense needs to end.
So we order a Philly Hero and a Calzone and take a seat. Soda fountain was out of 1 option.
Food served. The Philly Cheese Steak was pretty much flavorless and we though it was kinda weird not to provide fries with it. I mean. Single potato is like 60Ā¢... So you get the hero on its own on a plate. So order yourself some sort of sides to add on to the $12 hero. It also came with no dip or anything to give it some extra flavor.
Calzone was a Meat Lovers and honestly was pretty good. Lots of cheese, good quantity and quality of the meats. Marinara sauce is pretty good as well. I'd order again, and I'd say two people could split a Calzone with an appetizer or something else.
I'm not sure I'd go back, but not ruling it out. The kicker was on our way out, we cleaned our own table. Got to the door and nobody at any point asked how the food was. Nobody visited the table again. Heck... Nobody even thanked us for stopping in on our way out to door. Nothing... Place was not busy. During our time there maybe 12 customers in total were in the building, 4 tables from what I recall.
Summary: Flavorless hero, good Calzone, terrible customer service. I don't see how its rated as high as it is. Solid 3star experience. I get better care from Taco Bell which is pretty embarrassing since they don't ask for tips and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWith all the new restaurants opening in Goodyear the owners better sell this pig before it is worthless! 3 separate times we have ordered a large antipasto salad and asked to have grilled chicken added to it. ALL THREE TIMES the usual rolled cheese and meat have been left off and only the added chicken was on the salad. When my wife placed the phone order she asked the girl to read it back to her twice and she repeated the order correctly. A week ago was the last time and lucky for them that my wife called and went back and when speaking with the young girl upfront, who seemed like a deer in headlights, to get the usual meat for the salad, the manager sat in back, never approached the counter to offer an apology and my wife had to argue with her to get some type of compensation for the inconvenience of coming back to the store to get what was ordered and repeated correctly by the order taker. The manager should be fired! The counter girl needs training. Again to the owners, sell this pig before it worthless and turns into a vape store! Do yourself a favor and head ādown the hillā to one of the many fine new restaurants and save yourself from the aggravation, enjoy a fantastic meal and support a local business that deserves...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been craving the taste of authentic Italian food but as a former New Yorker I have found it a rare taste to find. Normally we are not in this part of the Valley but needed lunch. I scrolled through the list of restaurants I came across this lovely little place. When we walked in we seen tables occupied by a group of people that seemed to be really enjoying their meal. As we looked at the menu and were trying to decide what to order one of the patrons spoke up and said āItās all great no matter what you orderā I had to respond with the fact that I am NY native with an Italian background and hard to please. Come to find out they were from the same part of Upstate NY as I am. I took their advice and we ordered Calzones. I was so delighted at how great it was. The sauce had the perfect amount of spices, you could tell it was fresh garlic, oregano and parsley. I am very hard to please with red sauce but it was delicious. Granted itās not decorated like a 4 star restaurant and you order at the counter but the service by the gentleman whom I think was the owner was very friendly and welcoming. If your craving fresh ingredient authentic Italian food donāt pass this...
