Lakeside Grill Estrella — Restaurant in Goodyear

Despite the miscommunication when I called yesterday, asking if Reservations were required for a 4:00 dinner, I'm really glad that I went there today for my 59th birthday dinner.

When I arrived at the address, at first, I was I unable to find the place because there is no sign. And, even though other reviews have said, it's located in the old library, this doesn't help out of town visitors.

And, when I saw the sign for the Starpointe Residents Club, Residents and Guests Only, I thought for sure that I was in the wrong place.

But, after asking 2 different people (1 lady outside, and 1 lady at the concierge desk), I finally found the place.

So, yes. The Lakeside Grill, Estrella, is located inside.

When, I got there, the Hostess, and my Wairess, Jackie, was very helpful, as all they had out were the Brunch, an Lunch menus.

Because I had gotten there a few minutes before 4:00, and already had my dinner planned, the Garlic Mashed Potatoes, and, the Baked Potatoes, were not quite ready. Also, it was too early in the season for Summer Squash.

To be honest, I was tempted to leave, but luckily, the Fillet Mignon was available. 8-) So, I carried on.

I ordered the Petite Fillet Mignon, Medium Rare, with Garlic Herb Butter, Parmesan & Herb Risotto and a glass of Cabernet (unlike most restaurants, this place does not have a house wine. But, all the wines on the list are available by the Glass 8-) ).

Service was excellent. Jackie was friendly, yet courteous and professional. I think she felt bad about the miscommunication.

The only problem was the Fillet was overcooked a bit (ordered Medium-Rare, got it Medium). But, it was still melt in your mouth tender, that it doesn't effect my rating for them.

And, to the best of my recollection, this Fillet Mignon, was the best that I've had in years. If not, ever!

And, despite road construction on Litchfield Rd (3 lanes to 1, before the freeway) and Estrella Parkway, and the traffic, this place is well worth the battle to get there.

I enjoy coming here on occasion... especially being able to sit outside. Overall, the service has been relatively quick - and the servers friendly. But, I do wish the menu was a bit more expansive, more creative, and a little less expensive. I used to enjoy their bruschetta, but that was taken off. Ordered a Bistro Burger, which had tasty ingredients... but cheap, cold bread that was neither sourdough nor grilled (and of course everything fell apart). Why wouldn't you serve this on a challah bun or something similar with the amount of ingredients on it? The dessert I ordered was a chocolate molten lava cake... except it was just a chocolate cake that was probably taken out of the fridge. No molten chocolate at all... so, no melted chocolate seeping out when I put my fork through it. (This is the 2nd time I've ordered this, because also wasn't molten the first time. Thought it was a fluke... nope). This place has the ability to elevate their menu - I hope they eventually choose to, because it is such a great spot and you want to support community businesses. Lakeside Grill Estrella completely exceeded our expectations! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming, relaxed, and beautifully set right by the water. The view alone is worth the visit—but the food and service are what truly make this place unforgettable.

Every dish we ordered was perfectly prepared and full of flavor. You can tell they use quality ingredients, and the presentation was top-notch. Whether you’re grabbing a casual bite or sitting down for a full dinner, they’ve got something for everyone. The menu offers a great variety without feeling overwhelming.

What really stood out was the service. The staff was attentive, friendly, and genuinely seemed to care about our experience. Our server made fantastic recommendations, checked in just the right amount, and made us feel like valued guests.
