Waffle House — Restaurant in Eufaula

This was the best Waffle House experience we have ever had! We stopped for a bite to eat after driving for hours. Before we were even inside, we were greeted by DoShell and Whkira. They were friendly and welcoming. We were immediately seated. We had a plain waffle, hashbrowns w cheese, and a pecan waffle. The coffee was fresh and the food was great! DoShell was attentive and personable. Once seated, my husband went outside to get my sweater because I was cold. Zeek (supervisor) overheard and turned the heat on for me. That is customer service! DoShell learned it was our anniversary and that we had not been able to celebrate. She chose songs from the jukebox, and the staff sang along. It was a wonderful experience and truly made a less than ideal situation one that will be remembered fondly. I can not say enough positive things about this crew. In addition to the great service, the location is clean, including the restrooms. A sincere thank you to DoShell, Whkira, Zeek, Mel, and CJ! We were in there about 2:00 a.m. on Sunday July 17th after a Saturday night a fishing. The crew of four worked together to take care of our needs like no waffle House crew I have ever seen. I have visited Waffle Houses all over the South and I enjoy it. But I've never given a waffle House a five star review. This review is all about this four-person crew. And even one of them was a new hire. Someone,who wasn't our server, came and took our drink orders. Our server came right after and took our food order, the other crew member bought our drinks and then our server came back to check on us. The third server, who was not our server, walk by and saw my tea glass was empty and offered to get me more tea. Our orders arrived perfectly cooked. About 2 minutes into eating the cook stepped to the counter so that we can hear him at our table and ask us if our food was cooked to our liking. Service like this went on throughout our entire dining experience. When we walked in, I could see the annoyance on our server's face. She slowly came to our table. She got our order right and was quick with bringing us our food. She took our drink orders first. She brought my husband's and daughter's waters, but didn't bring me and my mother-in-law's coffee until after we got our food. She never brought my husband syrup for his pancakes. She never came back to our table at all. My mother-in-law asked her for more coffee twice and she ignored her. She never once came back to our table, and we were the only table she had. I understand they are short staffed, and she was probably tired, but there's no excuse to treat customers bad. It is not our fault. At least we are there supporting the business. We were not rude, either. We so could have been after we had been ghosted. I also did not like how a group of employees were talking loudly about how tired and overworked they are.
