The Human Bean — Restaurant in Eugene

Irrelevant but I have been to the human bean on Chad drive since they first opened and any people that were hired there I’ve never had a problem with. And the manager is wonderful. Same with the other human bean on west 11 have nice baristas. I’ve only been here a few times bc I noticed they were ALWAYS dead. Which was weird. Anyways earlier today around 2:20-40pm there was two girls working there and who I felt an entitled and kind of passive aggressive vibe from.. now the situation was they didn’t tell me they hand blended it and didn’t use the machine which is fine I later found out they clean the machine around 3 which is why my granita was more watery than how it usually comes. But when I came again the other girl came and not the same girl that gave it to me for some reason when I wasn’t whatsoever rude to her? But the other one was entitled and said they couldn’t give me a refund? Seemed short and that’s when I started becoming upset bc the one time I’ve only had a problem with human bean?.. so I was confused why they couldn’t change the drink or refund and asked when the manger would be there and she answered “oh her name is maddy” when I asked when they would be there not the name. She never told me so they she gave me a card that’s limited only I guess I didn’t have to pay the 20 something dollar gift card but could use it as a free drink which is fine but if I come again how would they know?? If I even would.. I suppose I can’t go to a different one with that one card maybe? I even told her I swear I didn’t mean to sound complaining but when they are so tight and entitled it’s so weird. The people who work here are fantastic. Really went above and beyond for me and my partner. We had a misstep in our process ordering from Uber eats, and the manager I spoke to not only helped me with figuring out where I went wrong, but also helped me with communicating to Uber, as well as offering me and my partner remakes of the drink. I usually keep my expectations for these kinds of things low, especially when it was mostly a mistake on my end, and I had mostly called to figure out how I could avoid the mistake in the future. They were super nice and completely understanding, and I was blown away by the genuine kindness of everyone who I interacted with. I was able to come by the shop later, and the employee I spoke with was an absolute delight. The drinks were amazing, and I definitely know where my go-to coffee shop in the future will be. I usually order from Uber, as the stand is quite far from my apartment, and I take the bus, but everyone was so nice it is definitely going to be worth the bus ride. 10/10...

I love the coffee here!!! The people working here are lovely and understanding. You can see a variety of types of people which leads to very interesting conversations, especially since people are very friendly there! Even customers!! The coffee is thick and smooth, almost like a milkshake (I get the granita with creme de menth and mocha ❤️) which I absolutely adore!
