The first couple of times, I got the breakfast tacos. Those were amazing and big. I went there again the other day, and I really didn't know what I wanted, so I thought I would just make it simple and get a chicken quesadilla. The employee that took my order was very friendly and asked if I wanted it grilled or shredded chicken. I said grilled. I also got a churro. About 10 min roll by, and cars are stacking up as there isn't a drive-through order telecom. Signs kinda outdated as well, so I'm not even sure if it shows a full menu. You drive up to the window and order. I go home and take a bite and could immediately tell something was off. I opened it up, and it wasn't grilled chicken. It was like some type of boiled chicken or baked, and they took it off like a drumstick or something. Small tiny chunks of greasy chicken. There was barely any cheese added to hold the chicken, so it just fell out while eating since the chicken was greasy. There's a KFC close by... I'm not saying they used KFC chicken, but it was very similar based on taste. The churro was very good, though. My cousin said he stopped going cause he found a long hair in his tacos last time he went. He told me this AFTER I got back complaining about...
Read more$4 for extra pico de gallo… I wanted some extra on my tacos. When I opened the box it looked like the regular amount that should be there anyway AND they charged $4 for extra. For that price I should be getting an 8oz container of pico de gallo. That’s a whole jar of salsa from the store. I asked the girl if they had just a small side of pico for cheaper and she told me the guy “put a lot” but like I said when I opened the box it just looked like a regular amount. I have never been to a taco place that charged $4 for extra pico. Hopefully they get better and adjust their prices. $4 is ridiculous for extra pico. I also asked for a side of the tomatillo salsa, and the container was so empty the salsa barely covered the bottom of the small, clear container. So I had to ask for 6 of them and had to combine 3 into 1 just to fill up one cup.
The tacos themselves are pretty good and closest to ones I had in San Diego. Big portions. Salsa could be a little more flavorful. One time all 4 types of salsa were super hot while another time the green was more mild like...
Read moreThis place can be a hit or miss. My recent experience I had ordered a bacon breakfast burrito between 7am-8am. The bacon fat was so mushy and they bacon meat was hard to chew, it’s like they threw bacon from the day before in a bag with some water to heat it up in the microwave. Plus the eggs were so overcooked with burn marks from sitting on the grill too long. It left a bad aftertaste in my mouth.
I’ve been here before during lunch time. I had a carnitas burrito which was pretty good. Meat tasted a little old but overall good. I didn’t see much of a cook line. Which makes me think 2 things:
1.) they are understaffed to cut over head costs 2.) they cut corners by using left over meat from the day before (which I understand may be standard practice at some fast food places to cut costs, but this diminishes the quality of the food and experience, making it less likely for customers to come back)
I think I won’t...
