This is 2 stars for tonight’s experience. I would give 5 stars to the margaritas. I did have the top shelf casa margarita. My friend had to return the house frozen strawberry margarita because it didn’t taste right and replaced it with the strawberry margarita on the rocks, which was better. We had to wait a really long time for our food to arrive. I finished a jumbo margarita in that time, and of course, ordered another by the time our food arrived. Food was not worth the wait. My burrito grande was full of rice, but I was at least 5 bites in before I hit pork. I usually fawn over pork at Mexican restaurants and have unsuccessfully been able to replicate it at home (although I came closer than Camila’s), but this was dry, bland pork in a burrito with close to plain white rice. My husband and friend said their meal was “ok”, which to me isn’t glowing reviews. My other friend liked her Baja shrimp tacos (the Baja sauce did look good). All in all, it was good the margaritas and chips and salsa were good because the food we had to wait for was just ok. Maybe a good place for happy hour, but I’ll have to go back to our mainstay, Que Pasa in Murphy, for good Mexican food. A side positive note: it was my birthday, which my husband mentioned near the beginning though he claims he didn’t tell the waiter again when I went to the bathroom after dinner: presented with the dreaded sombrero on my head after the check had been delivered, they also brought a shot of tequila. If you haven’t already guessed, tequila is my poison of choice, and this wasn’t some Jose Quervo gold sh*t. I got a decent blanco tequila, and the shot was delicious and a nice way to cap a birthday I was not thrilled to have (I’m no spring chicken, let’s say). My husband says that deserves 3 stars, and maybe it does. But most people check reviews for food, and the food was definitely worthy of only 2 stars. 5...
Read moreWe ordered an enchiladas suizas plate. I said if there's any beans put them on the side, because of allergies. The gal said yeah no problem. And before giving me a total i hear her giggling then phone went mute and she hung up.
The enchiladas were smothered with refried beans and a ton of cilantro. I told the manager what was going on. I thought everything was going fine until he said he would give us a credit for a free meal when we come back in at a later time. I said we're not coming back after they messed up like this the last time and my partner can't even eat any of this. He just hung up then wouldn't answer when i called back.
I was polite the whole time. We just don't want to end up having a la medical emergency, and apparently the manager doesn't care about that. The emotional immaturity of this manager not only reflects badly upon himself, but also the restaurant that he represents.
The food is really good and would compliment all of the cooks. It's not their fault. The manager said counter gal must have written down the beans on the side wrong. She told me no problem. And she speaks perfect English. But this isn't the first time it's happened at this place specifically. Our order was incorrect the last four times. One of those times, the remade order was also incorrect.
I hate leaving a bad review, but I've never ever had to complain about Mexican food or restaurant, but there are plenty around the area that have always given perfect food and service. But we ordered from here because they have the masita that's so good, but it ain't that good to chance having to deal with a medical emergency, incorrect orders,...
Read moreSubmitted a reservation online for the next day (Tuesday) for 18 people and called to confirm shortly after to ensure it went through and explain what the reservation was for and that we were hoping to get a long table all together. They said that they could definitely accommodate that. Arrived at our reserved time to find out that they gave away our table when they got busy. No apologies or anything. Had to wait 15 minutes for them to get something set up for us and it ended up being two separate 8 top tables. As we started to sit down I said we wanted to be at a long table together not separated like this but they couldn’t accommodate that. I also mentioned how we needed TWO MORE CHAIRS. From there the service was poor. Our server took our food and drink order and didn’t take the other tables order for over 15 minutes. Our food arrived in what I thought was a reasonable time but then the other table in our party had to wait 45 minutes for their meal! Our waiter never came and checked on us after we got our food and later tried to take my plate away as I was still eating. I’ve literally never felt compelled to write a restaurant a review but I was so disappointed in the way they handled our party and the fact that they gave our table away. Nobody ever apologized to us at all for the inconvenience. Will not...
