I am hesitant to burn more of my time on writing/explaining this story again but I am not getting through to anybody with McDonalds that might care.
My significant other went to this McDonalds to pick up some food as a treat for the kids while I was working (at my home office). The drive is about 15mins so it is convenient. Upon returning, she notified me that she did not notice but they did not give me the $1.59 McChicken that I had asked her to pick up for me. This happened at a bad time for me as I was already boiling over from a bad workday and could not address the issue due to more pressing, work-related matters.
It was about an hour after I had become aware of my missing food that I decided to take the other food I had ordered back with me for a refund. Another 30mins of my family's time wasted but I was at wit's end and felt the principle was worth the effort. Upon returning to the store, I spoke with two people and told them my issue. I told them I wanted a refund for my order because I had not received all of the food I ordered, had no interest in the food I was given anymore, and wanted to be compensated for my time, gas, hunger, and absolute disappointment. I was polite and never lashed out at anyone in the store because I do understand that mistakes happen. The second person I spoke with got the manager on duty. Her name was Rosche (sp?).
Rosche was clearly not in the mood to deal with any complaints and took the receipt, asking me what was missing. She took the receipt, took my food, walked over to the cash register without ever even looking at me, and proceeded to hand me $3.20 for the food I had brought back. Bewildered, I told her that this was unacceptable. She had not even refunded me for the food I never received. She proceeded to inform me that this was policy and she was only allowed to provide me a refund for items I returned. I clarified with her that she meant exactly what she had said...because it was absolutely ridiculous. How could I return something I never received? It seemed as though she realized the foolishness of her claims because she took another look at the receipt and then said that I should have called as soon as I noticed the issue and not waited until an hour later. She continued on to say that, "...if we gave everyone a refund for food that they couldn't return, that would be too much."
Well, I am completely f*cking blown away by this response. Not only was I being denied a refund for something they never even delivered, but the manager suggested it was me at fault for her inability to assist me! She said that she needed to see the food in order to refund me. Despite the absolute insanity, I calmly pleaded with her to realize how ridiculous this was and asked to speak with someone else. This is when she told me her name, spelled it out, then gave me a phone number and walked away...all in about 3 or 4 seconds. I had no idea who I was calling and was barely given an opportunity to get the number down when I had to ask for it a second time.
Sadly, the number I was given has been unreachable since. I received a call while at work which I returned a couple of hours later, only to be met with voicemail. I have called since, several more times, without success.
McDonalds has completely failed me and will not ever be an option for me or my family again. All over a $1.59 McChicken. I will continue to try and resolve this issue with McDonalds but I have a feeling that I will have to file a dispute with my bank to make any ripples. At the end of the day, I paid for food that I never received and was refused support over the matter.
It's an absolute shame as I have never once had such an awful experience with getting a refund ANYWHERE...let alone over something as trivial as a $1.59...
Read moreThey are getting 3 stars. 2 for the awesome additions to the app. Pre-order and pre-pay open up a whole new world in the McDonald's options. I must say that's awesome and if this was a review for the app I would go for 5 stars. But it's for this Umatilla, Florida McDonald's. Now the 3rd star is for the speed and the freshest quarter pounder with cheese I've ever had at any McDonald's my entire 36 years of living. Lol. It was awesome and again if I where reviewing that sandwich it would be 5 stars hands down. Now for my local McDonald's. They finally got one visit right with me out of all the years ice lived in this town And I watched this McDonald's get built when I was in high school. So that being said I can't jinx my first good visit so I'm not giving then anything yet. I use to only give them a 1 star for poor service, slow, rude. And always cold fries. Or just everything would be nasty even the water. But they did way better and I always dread our family McDonald's dinner nights because it for me was never good. But they did a awesome job and to top it. They even did that awesome job at closing. I wasn't the last customer but I was 2nd to last and that service was awesome. Thanks for finally getting it right let's hope you can keep the staff that did it right as well and maybe I might enjoy McDonald's again. Lol. Oh here I must one more star for the chocolate chip caramel frappe damn they are good. Update: i have to drop the three stars to a one star simply because they have horrible service and no consistency as far as customer service and they also seem to no longer make the same frappe i so fell in love with two months ago. So i guess i was blessed two months ago when i happened to get exceptional service, food, and drinks, in a timely manner now that must have been a one time or once in a lifetime mishap. The app still rocks but Eustis,Florida 32726 store and Umatilla,Florida 32784...
Read moreLast Monday 7/8/19 I visited the Eustis, FL location and I ordered 3 Large Sugar Free Iced coffees. Sugar free because they were for Diabetic people myself being one of them. I usually cannot tell the difference in taste between real sugar and sugar substitute so I began to drink my coffee right away. To make a long story short, when I began to get to the bottom I began to feel and crunch on undissolved sugar crystals. I looked at the bottom of my drink and sure enough the bottom of my drink as well as the other two was loaded with sugar granules. As a insulin dependent diabetic I became sick and was forced to administer extra insulin. Luckily I did not have to be hospitalized. I contacted the corporate office through the mcdonaldscares email. Terri D. the human resource manager told me that all the concerned management was notified but to this day I have not received one apology, promise of change, or any sign that the people at Chalfont and Assoc Group owners of the Eustis location give a care that their employee's negligence could have caused me great bodily harm or killed me. To ad insult to injury, all i asked for was that they replace the large coffees with 3 new sugar free. I got coupons for medium coffees, not what i paid for! CAUTION if you have a food allergy or health issue make sure your order is correct and don't take accuracy for granted it could cost you your...
