TOKI Japanese Steakhouse — Restaurant in Evans

I used to really like this place. We went in last Friday, so a bit crowded but not a big deal since the hostess said we could sit at the sushi bar. Mind you, no one was at the sushi bar besides my husband and I. While we were being sat, I asked the hostess if they still did a buy 1 get 1 half off beer during happy hour tonight since I haven't been in a year or so and she said yes. We sit and the waitress comes up and just to be reassured, I asked her the same thing and she also says yes. The waitress takes our order (I get sushi and my husband gets hibachi). After she takes our order, our waitress goes right up to the hostess stand and tells the hostess how she can't stand waiting for the sushi bar. We let it go, we just placed our order and were the only two people at the sushi bar. She didn't even put in my sushi order so the sushi guys right in front of us without saying anything for a few minutes, asks what I ordered so they could make it. It's fine, maybe she's having a rough night. She comes back after we've both gotten our food, I ask for the 2nd beer and all is well. Finish up and she brings the check. She says "so, we actually don't do the buy 1 beer get 1 half off on the weekend anymore. Sorry about that" which would be fine if she said that before I ordered the 2nd one or if I didn't ask the hostess and her before ordering, but she didn't. So I asked to speak to the manager because I asked the hostess and the waitress before ordering, it's only a few dollars off but still if y'all don't honor it on the weekends, please say that beforehand. The manager comes up and says they don't. I explain I asked not one, but two employees before ordering. He grumbled a bit but honored it. Like come on, like thank you for honoring it after asking about it multiple times but I just wanted to have a good night out with my husband when we dont really go anywhere anymore because of the prices and I just like to budget beforehand to know the exact prices before making a consumer decision. My wife and I have enjoyed eating at Toki's on several occasions. However, on our last visit for dinner on August 19, 2022. I witnessed who I presumed was the manager or possibly owner help clear an empty table. After he had cleared the dishes he came back and very meticulously picked up undisturbed sauces that were in uncovered "to go" cups. He very carefully took them back to the kitchen area which was in plain view of the dining area and set them down on a table. Another person came up and put lids on those cups and took them to the area where "to go" orders had been placed. They were sending out unused sauces that had been sitting on a table where people had been eating! I called it to his attention by asking, "why are y'all sending out those used sauces with to go orders?" He said something unintelligible and went and took them back to the kitchen but I didn't see him throw them away. I'm sure he put them back when we left. I would be very leary of eating here from now on. I know costs are up, but maybe take only one sauce to the table at a time and make the customer ask for more if...

It was during lunch and I remember it was you, your brother, and your mother. Your group was giving that server a hard time. You kept changing your order on purpose and then complained to the manager that the server was messing up your order. You and your brother were laughing at the server (who looked to be in her 20s, by the way) at the way she spoke, because it was obvious English wasn't her first language. I also think I may have heard either you or your ignorant brother even mock her by imitating her speech. I remember this incident, because I was thinking how can such blatant racist people still exist when it is now 2019!?!
