My partner and I came here for an early valentine’s day celebration on the 13th. we made reservations in advanced on open table and had no issues with scheduling. we arrived a bit late and the hostess was very kind and understanding. to start, the atmosphere is very intimate and the interior is gorgeous. the decor is fitting and well put. the music more or less didn’t notice. we started with some cocktails, i got the moulin rouge (delicious and simple, not too much liquor) and my partner got a mocktail, the provence in glass (also delicious).
we started with the goat cheese tartine, which was to die for. the goat cheese had such a nice texture and the focaccia almost melted in your mouth. then we got the mussels and the special (new york strip with frites). the mussels were big and the sauce was SO good. the bread they serve with it makes a nice crunch with the dish. defiantly would come back for this alone. The steak cut was really good and cooked to liking. i will say, we asked for a sauce / glaze because the steak lacked a bit and let me tell you, the steak glaze they have made it just right. It was so flavorful ! we were a bit disappointed with the fries because they were just okay (we were expecting more french style frites, fried in duck fat) we got the side of ratatouille and oh my - some of the best zucchini, squash and eggplant i have had. the sauce was just right and the vegetables were cooked lovely. we finished with the 1000 layers cake and it was a bit messy but defiantly would get it again, packed with layers of flavor !
the food was great. our service was great too. our hostess was very attentive and helpful. my partner has quite amount of allergies and was delighted to know the chef personally signs off to ensure no allergies are in the dishes being ordered. additionally, the hostess took feedback from the special (it was the first time serving) and gave it to the chef !
overall, this was a very special valentines dinner. it is pricey but if you are looking for a fine dining experience, it is worth. with time, i can only imagine this place getting better, as they are still fairly new....
Read moreGoodness, what a great meal we had. We actually left the restaurant as full as we've ever been. My wife ordered the traditional prix fix, and I threw the staff a curveball by ordering the Fig and ice cream dessert as my first course. This was followed by a spectacularly done duck that was perfectly cooked and very tasty. My third course was the cheese course, and the cheese sommelier cut eight distinct different small modules of cheese. They were of a very nice size and very tasty, and as he recommended, I tasted them in order. Delightful. This was followed by my fourth course as a lemon oriented dessert. Previous to all of this, they had served us beautifully baked rolls and twice served us small appetizers that were incredibly well prepared, visually beautiful, and very flavorful. I had requested the wine list in advance, and their wine list is expansive. I would suggest anyone might do that, as markups around the world have become more Americanized. We found a beautiful Côte du Rhone that had a very reasonable markup. The wine sommelier congratulated us on a good wine and value. Most of the guests that night were American with a couple of tables of french-speaking people. My wife speaks passable French, and I speak just a bit, and the staff appreciated our efforts to speak their local language and made us totally comfortable. We felt that the pricing of the entire meal was excellent for the quality that was offered. I would highly recommend that people simply say merci versus thank you and a few other simple phrases. That is always appreciated by the French wait staff. We could not eat outdoors because it was chilly and rainy, but the indoor environment was very nice and we enjoyed our table where they accommodated us so that we could sit side-by-side. The restaurant was full except for two small tables, which speaks to the quality of this Michelin one-star restaurant. We will definitely visit this restaurant again when we are next...
Read moreFirst time here, was my belated mother's Day dinner. The interior and exterior of this restaurant was very nice, but the tables are on top of each other, didn't like that we were so close to other diners, literally no privacy, tables were about two feet away from each other. Now the dinner, underwhelming to say the least, firstly I orded the demi baguette which came out in a small white paper bag on a plate, when I took the bread out of the bag, the top of the baguette was hot and oddly enough the bottom was cold and wondered if it sat under a heat lamp, either way the bread did not taste fresh and was overly chewy, and hard to bite. I order d the steak fries and my son had the roasted chicken breast and both dishes were very bland no flavor whatsoever. My steak was half tender and the other half very chewy,- weird. The fries were better than the steak which tasted of nothing.. disappointed. My son's chicken, although his chicken was perfectly cooked tender and juicy, it also was flavorless, roasted chicken over a bit of broth, some leeks, and literally just tasted like an under seasoned chicken soup nothing more. Although both meals had a decent presentation, that was the best thing about our meals. we also decided to try a desert hoping that would save the day, but needless to say, it didn't. We tried the butterscotch crumble, I believe, I can't remember the name, nonetheless it didn't taste like butterscotch at all, tasted like a crumbly graham cracker concoction which was just ok. We had two no alcohol cocktails, which were meh at best. Either way I felt this place is definitely way over priced for the dinner we had, nothing special, 182.00, before tip was a bit too much for what it was and what we got. We don't mind paying for good food and expect to pay especially if the dinner is worth it but this place is not. Definitely will not...
