I apologize in advance for this review containing grammatical errors, as well, as other mistakes in the review. I wanted to cover this particulare location, as I actually live nearby, and have a significant pinion on the matter. But I did do this kind of quickly…
So, This is the only Target location that I gave lower than 4 stars. It just does not feel like it belongs on that "old school block/small-town-vibe" of a strip-block. I was not even a fan when it used to be a North face on that exact corner (I believe), but North face did a good job of keeping it within the confines of the "small town vibe" criteria (obviously subjective) that I personally have. If you were walking down this block, you would almost get a small feel, like the one you might get while you're at old orchard shopping center. Not the same, buddy similar vibe.
This is an important point that I make, which others may disagree with. Obviously they have that right, and I hope they utilize it for others to see ( it would be nice for others to see The other side). Anyway, I make MY point, because I do compare that block to a very classy strip mall. It even has a . Anyone who has been on it, knows that it is a one way street, with a lot of space to park, walk around, and enjoy the area. It's filled with ice cream shops and pizza parlors, And multiple spots to get a hair cut (Old school Barber Shop, a Floyd99's, and a salon), and there used to be a Jamba Juice, which was replaced with another form of juice a like store.. Like north face had accomplished, the Gap, up the block, does as well.
Target does try to cram a lot of their products, that you would find elsewhere at other target locations, in a small space. Compared to its other locations. Some might find that refreshing, as they will find everything, while others might say that it does not belong in that location, and should at least have a given the shoppers space, for that comfortable, relaxing shopping experience, that you look for on that particulare strip of a block area, even if It compromises how many items they are unable to carry, if it gave the extra space...
I'm referring to the Evanston location, to anyone who does not know… It should be showing the actual location, but somebody mentioned to me, from a different post that I made, and that the location was not automatically brought up. So I throw it out there to those who are not aware of which location I'm referring to.
Peace to all, and...
Read moreParking no longer free. 1 star off for City of Evanston stopping the free parking for Target in their adjacent parking garage (“Sherman”) without posting a warning at the garage entrance. The free parking policy was in effect for years. I 0-1 hour is $1; 1-2 hours is $3. Doesn’t sound like much until you run in for 1 box of cotton swabs & get hit with that $1 fee when there are so many Targets with their own free parking lots & garages you could go to instead if yo already drive for other reasons a few miles beyond Evanston’s downtown. Smaller Target at this location so smaller selection & what’s stocked here doesn’t necessarily make sense. For example: Tons of boxes of Q-Tips of varying quantities, but only the largest size of Target house brand Up&Up cotton swabs. Idk—you can share w/ your 3 dorm/frat/apartment mates lol. Very helpful store clerks. So if you walk/bike/scooter/skate, this may be the location for you, but check what’s in stock online first before...
Read moreThe employees are absolutely First-Class ! Bianca, and Devon have always been terrific workers, and such helpful, and kind people during this seemingly endless pandemic ! I always enjoying seeing them, although I don't ever want to bother them. Vanessa is friendly too, and is such an energetic worker. The music is uplifting, and I always seem to find what I am looking for. No wonder my sisters love Target ! I like the Evanston Target by far the best because the staff is fun to talk to, and because it is within walking distance of where I live. I also think that Meli, and Carlos are doing an exemplary job at security, too. I am sure that it is sadly not an easy job. I know Kellie is a manager, and, aside from being a good person, she is really First-Class, too ! Mainly, I appreciate everyone here at the Evanston store. I am not important, or special in any way, but I appreciate the kindness, and...
