Sher-Main Grill — Restaurant in Evanston Township

Hubby & I took our grandson out for lunch at the Sher-Main Grill. We have been trying out several local establishments for the last month or two and this peaked our interest. It is a smallish storefront restaurant but with plenty of tables, an old fashioned lunch counter with green swivel stools, and a matching green-colored milkshake maker behind the counter! A large and varied menu included the usual breakfast choices, lunch menu with wide variety of sandwiches, and a dinner menu. Choice of side dishes and the homemeade soups looked delicious! We all decided on deluxe cheeseburger platters which included lettuce, tomato, pickles and fries. Grandson's was a double with bacon. 🥓 Note: "deluxe" does not come with the soup. Everything was very tasty, the burgers were not huge but very satisfying (kind of like homemade) with the portion of fries just o.k. At the time, soft drink came in cans served with a glass of ice. Seats by the windows r Hella tight so if ur a @big back" I suggest U find a bigger booth in the middle or back of the joint! I had the 2 eggs w/ cheese, hashbrowns, & turkey sausage wit the wheat toast while my lady had the 2 sunny side up eggs, ham,hashbrowns, & wheat toast! I'm a brunch enthusiast, so I was excited to hear there was a diner within walking distance of my new apartment when we moved out here from NY. My fiance and I visited one weekend morning, and it's a good thing we are within walking distance of home! Turns out it's cash-only, which I unfortunately did not have on me. Had to run home quick to grab some.

Food was average, if not a tad overpriced for the portions and quality. With as many brunch places as there are nearby, I'd probably choose to go somewhere else next time.

I will say that it has a cozy, community-embracing vibe that was pleasant...
