Wow......see the review below. After 3 years we went back, and quite frankly I dont see how this place is still in business. Service was not real good and we were there at 1:30 on a Saturday afternoon. Place for the most part was empty. Used to be one of the most popular restaurants in the area. We ordered off of the 2 for $20 menu, which only has 2 burgers and a salad. So we actually ordered off the 2 for $29.00 menu. We started with an appetizer, which came out wrong, but we went with it. The wife ordered Key Lime Chicken with rice. The rices had been setting under a heat lamp and was dried out. The chicken was burnt......LOL. I ordered the riblets. Nothing like they used to be. There were very few of them and they must have been cooked like 4 times. They were mushy and fatty. Pretty much sucked.
The place has went to hell in a handbag. Restrooms looked like they hadn't been service for a couple days. Paper towel dispenser broken. Looked like it had been for a while. Floor was filthy.
Think we wrote this place of permanently. Used to be a great place to eat......great food, great service.......now the only thing great about the place is when you drive by it......and keep going. Wished I would have today.
Since Applebee’s was open on Christmas we decided to go there for dinner. What a mistake that was. We sat in the bar, another mistake because service was horrible, waiter was not attentive, could figure out the bill as he tried to over charge us twice. We ordered off the 2 for $27.00 menu. Wife got the bourbon street chicken and shrimp. It should be called garlic chicken and shrimp. It had so much garlic on it, it wasn’t edible. I got the 1/2 rack of baby back ribs. They were very tasty. But I BBQ quite a bit, and a rack of baby backs is about 12 or 13 bones. (Goggle it), I got 4, so I ordered a half rack and got a third of a rack, so much for taking care of the customer. They must think we are all stupid. All the food was cold when we got it. Appetizers came out with the meal after we waited 15 minutes, and it was cold also. When he brought the appetizer and the meal all at the same time, he told us that he wouldn’t charge us for the appetizer. Which was good, because it was awful. We both drank water and when we asked for a check, we were given a check for $33 and change. Now I didn’t go to college, but 2 for $27, less the appetizer doesn’t come to $33 and change. I pointed this out to our waiter who was completely confused about why we questioned about it being $33. He took it back, and adjusted it and came back with a bill for $27.00 plus tax. So now that I feel like he think I must be the one that is stupid, I point out to him, the the whole meal was supposed to be $27.00, and since you are taking off the cold soggy chicken wings you called an appetizer it had to be less then $27.00. So we asked to see the manager, he left and came back with a 3rd adjusted bill, that we paid. The manager never came to out table. To begin with my wife did order coffee, and when it came out it was cold, so she didn’t drink that either. So to sum this review up, you might think about going...
Read moreFirst time coming here and all i did was an order to go. Picked it up and went on about my day not being able to eat my food for about 2 hours. I ordered a Medium Rare steak with sides and the steak was most definitely well done and burnt. I called the store and let them know what was going on and they proceeded to say “hold on let me get a manager” I sit on hold for about 10 minutes and i think well why not i’ll just drive over there. I stay on the phone, on hold and i get into the building and the damn phone is ringing in the back?? There’s about 10 workers, Store does not have very many customers. I wait for a few minutes and finally someone came up to the front and I asked for a manager since i had been waiting on hold to talk to one. Guy comes back a few minutes later and tells me that the manager can’t come out right now and that he’s doing shift changes?? Like you can’t come out and talk to a customer for 2 minutes and then go on with your work? Customer Service was GOD AWFUL!! I got my new food and checked my steak and sure enough it still was not Medium Rare! I went back into the store and waited in line, 2 more groups of people walk in behind me. We all wait and wait and finally a girl i hadn’t seen the first time comes up and i think she’s about to help me but instead serves and helps the people BEHIND me?? Completely ignoring the fact i was standing there waiting to be helped. The lady behind me realized the server ignored me and asked if i still needed helped and that she didn’t want to cut in line. I told her that no i hadn’t been helped that i had just been waiting. The server heard me and then she proceeds to help the people behind them! Finally another girl came out and saw i hadn’t been helped and got me help and an actual manager. Only 2 people were kind and willing to help me. I was patient, I wasn’t rude i just simply wanted my order corrected and it took over an hour for somebody to be even willing to help properly. I love applebees but I will never come back to this Location. Wasted over an hour of my time for nothing. Awful Service...
Read moreWent to Applebee's on 4th of July 2023. Hadn't been for a few years because of mediocre service last visit. However, this visit was absolutely amazing. I was greeted by a Host that truly made me feel special and important. I didn't get her name, but she deserves recognition.
Then there was my personal server, Brooklyn C., a Purdue graduate, working her butt off to move to the city where she wants to start her chosen career as a computer encryption analyst. I know this because she was personal and engaged in interesting conversation.
She was polite, courteous, not overbearing and provided an impeccable service all while multi-tasking with other customers providing them the same type of service. I was watching her work her magic all while she stayed focused and didn't get frustrated with semi-rude customers.
Brooklyn C's work ethic, personality, and commitment to service made my visit most enjoyable. She is an excellent a server. I know she will be an awesome computer encryption analyst.
Finally, on my way out, I passed several local high school and college photos that caught my eye. I couldn't believe it but in one of the photos from 2011, my son was standing in the middle of the Castle High School Drum Line playing the tenors he always wanted to play at the time. WOW!! I see pictures in restaurants all the time. However, I have never seen a picture of anyone I know, let alone, my son.
Way to go Morgan Ave. Applebee's. Your effort to service has not gone unnoticed. Hats off to the Management and the entire team for making Applebee's a cut above the rest. You have definitely turned things around from my visit a few years ago. Btw, I almost forgot...my ribeye was perfectly cooked and seasoned. It was delicious. Keep up...
