Bandana's Bar-B-Q Evansville IN — Restaurant in Evansville

As a dine in experience bandanas has always been great. However yesterday on mother's day 5/10 I placed an online order thru door dash. I placed my order at 4:29pm and fully expected to have a long wait time because of the holiday. I could see thru the door dash app that my order showed complete and ready to go in about 30ish minutes and not too long after I could also see my door dash driver was at the restaurant. At 6pm I called the driver wondering why they hadn't moved in the last hour. They told me they were still waiting on the food to be ready and that the ribs I ordered were not available. Between myself, the driver and the bandanas employee we worked out a substitution for my two orders of ribs and was told they didn't know when my order would be ready because they were busy. At 7:20pm almost three hours after I placed my order for $100 worth of food I called bandanas directly and was told my order was still not ready because the food had not been made and would probably be close to another thirty minutes. I should have just cancelled the order but my mom loves bandanas and she hasn't left the house in months because of covid19 so I was trying to do something special for her. My food finally arrived about 8:15pm almost four entire hours after my order was placed. When I bring the food in and start to hand my family the meals they ordered I was missing an entire two meats platter which is roughly $20 and the sides on two of my other three platters were incorrect. I called bandanas and was told the missing food wasn't their fault because door dash should have checked the order. I don't see how the error was the drivers fault because the way I understand contactless delivery they driver was not supposed to handle the food after it was bagged up for delivery. Bandanas told me if I could get the door dash driver to come back they would sent my missing food out. I asked if I could come get the food myself bandanas told me they weren't supposed to do that but they would make an exception. I will never order from bandanas again. The issue was not with door dash. The driver sat at the restaurant for three hours waiting for my order to be ready. It shouldn't take four hours four orders of some smoked meat and sides. Especially since bandanas advertises they smoke their bbq...

Looked around for dinner and came across some good reviews of Bandana’s Bar-B-Q in Evansville, IN. Sat at the bar and my server Madison took my drink order while I looked over the extensive menu. I went with the 3-meat combo platter to sample a few meats plus you get two sides. A huge platter of Brisket, Chicken, and Ribs plus Cole Slaw and Mac & Cheese (upcharge). This is a filling meal and the two huge garlic bread slabs really put it over the top. I must say the chicken was my favorite…tender, moist, and a nice smoke flavor made this the star of the platter. The brisket was just OK…a little dry and needed BBQ sauce to make it taste better (Brisket abuse…lol). The ribs were good, but there wasn’t much meat on them which made them a tad dry…so good flavor but scrawny ribs. Not sure of the sauce on the ribs, kind of had an Asian “sticky” flavor. They offer five different BBQ sauces and my favorite was the Chicago Sweet…great flavor, not overly sweet, nice smoky flavor. The Cole Slaw is mayonnaise based and has a sweet and creamy flavor, one of the better slaws I’ve enjoyed. The Mac & Cheese was OK, but in my opinion did not justify the $1.99 upcharge as a premium side. The garlic toast was great but didn’t get much attention due to the other items on my plate.

The service was great and attentive and the cost for the meal was reasonable. If I were to dine here again, I would probably just get chicken…it...

AUGUST 2024: WHAT A BIRTHDAY TREAT! We chose to eat at this BANDANA'S in EVANSVILLE, IN, as I had received a $5 coupon for my August birthday! We were seated immediately, greeted immediately by our SUPER-SERVER, TONIA M, and had our food placed in front of us immediately! TONIA M is an outstanding server! She is very personable, polite, and professional! It was a beautiful summer day topped off with some extremely tasty BBQ, baked beans, and coleslaw at BANDANA'S! THANK YOU, TONIA M, for making our dinner so pleasant and enjoyable! Your hard work and genuine concern for your customers have not gone unnoticed! 💖

MAY 2025 - THANK YOU HOLLY T for a very enjoyable dinner at Evansville's Bandana's Bar-B-Q recently! We were seated immediately and greeted soon after by hard-working HOLLY T with a HUGE SMILE, BUBBLY PERSONALITY, and VERY ATTENTIVE in making sure our supper was as enjoyable as possible! HOLLY is a natural "people-person" that I would imagine would do well in any profession. But when you're working with the everyday public - like my husband and me 😊 - folks like HOLLY are truly appreciated - especially when they're so young! The food seemed better, too! 👍 THANK YOU, HOLLY, for not just what you do but HOW you do it! I just wish they would bring back the SWEET...
