Fantastic! Looking forward to going back. My wife and I tried Bites of Indian for the first time yesterday (2.22.25) and had a great experience. I totally forgot to take pictures of the food, but I'll try to give a detailed description. We arrived just after 5pm when they opened. We were the first ones there. But it didn't take long before others started to arrive and fill up the other tables. Get there early or reserve a table. But first, some zoomed out details: clean and comfortable dining area, quick and friendly service, decent prices, good food portions, delicious flavors, enjoyable atmosphere. Parkash served us. Great guy, I hope you have the pleasure to meet him. Took really good care of us. He knew the menu, was able to recommend some popular dishes as well as his personal favorites, helped us navigate our different desired taste/spice levels, and checked on us regularly but not intrusively - great customer service. After we took our seats, we accepted the offer for ice water. We were brought tall glasses and a pitcher of water (which I like because I drink a lot of water). We both then ordered a Mango Lassi. Tasty, but reminds me more of a breakfast substitute smoothie - mango and yogurt - not really a dinner item, but still refreshing. I (believe I) ordered the Chicken Vindaloo and my wife ordered the Butter Chicken. We both also ordered a serving of the Garlic Cheese Naan (bread side). We shared each other's dishes. But let's start with the bread: it was a hot cheesy stuffed bread with garlic toppings that pulled apart beautifully - absolutely scrumptious that paired wonderfully with any other food item on the table - highly recommended, but if you're sharing with another person, you'll only need one order of it, not two, unless you are super hungry or want leftovers for yourself - more power to you. The bread was served at the same time as our food. The curry was phenomenal. Came with a serving of white rice. So on the table now we have two bowls of rice, spicy chicken curry, butter chicken curry, and two baskets of cheesy garlic bread. We both try everything. The Chicken Vindaloo has more heat to it: but the spice doesn't overwhelm the flavors. There's definitely some kick and giddy up in that curry, but it's not bad, meaning you don't immediately need to wash it down or fan your mouth or get teary eyed. The spice and flavors are perfectly balanced to create a yummy bite. I'm definitely going to have this again. Chicken vindaloo is a bold and fiery dish with a tangy, spicy, and slightly vinegary flavor, featuring a rich blend of chili peppers, garlic, ginger, cumin, and warm spices that create a deep, intense heat balanced by a hint of acidity. The butter chicken was also very yummy! This would be perfect for those who don't want any hot spices. This dish features a rich, creamy, and mildly spiced tomato-based sauce with a balanced blend of butter, garlic, ginger, and warm aromatic spices, creating a savory, slightly sweet, and tangy flavor profile. We couldn't eat everything and needed a couple of containers. I think the pre-meal mango lassi took up some stomach real estate. We're not big on leftovers, but in this case, we're Not complaining though, I'm looking forward to digging into the leftovers and tasting it all again today. Oh, and there was a tv on the wall playing some Indian music videos. Enjoyable, entertaining, and not dominating- we could still have a low voice conversation and still hear ourselves clearly. Thank you for a wonderful dinner. And again, a special thanks to Parkash for his excellent customer service. (Note: there was nowhere on the receipt to leave a tip. ??? And we didn't have cash on us. Felt bad because Parkash deserved it.) To anyone who spent the time reading this, thank you, but more importantly, now it's time for you to make some dinner plans here at this fantastic restaurant. Additionally, the owners are opening up a pizza place soon in Owensboro on 54. I look forward to trying...

My wife and I ate here for the first time about a week and a half ago. A gentleman named Freddy seated us as soon as we came in and took our drink order. We perused the menu and when he came back by we asked for suggestions. He asked us if preferred meat or vegetarian, soup, and spice level preferences. I asked for hot and spicy, he recommended the vegetarian hot and sour soup. My wife doesn’t like spicy as much as I do so she ordered vegetarian man chow soup. And we added an order of samosas, which came with a mint and cilantro dipping sauce and a tamarind sauce. The soups and the samosas were all delicious. The man chow has a deep, intense flavor and a bit of spice. The hot and sour has a heat that crept up on you, but was never overpowering.
For the entree I asked Freddy what he recommended, goat or chicken. He recommended the goat, and I asked if there was a super spicy option. He recommended the goat vindaloo. He told me the space range went up to extremely spicy, and I asked him if that was Indian spicy. He laughed and said no, that was even spicier! I asked him if I could order it Indian spicy. He said he didn’t recommend it because it was so spicy, but if that’s what I wanted to order, they would make it that way. I said let’s try it. It was amazing! The spiciest food I have ever eaten, but it was great in that the dish was not all heat. It was never the main event, the flavors of the goat, the coconut, and the vegetables were. The heat was just there elevating the whole experience. Would I order Indian spicy again, yes, but probably not the next time I go. It was so nice to find a restaurant that actually made their food incredibly hot.
I don’t remember what my wife ordered for an entrée, but it was delicious too. We got two orders of naan, I got the garlic and she got the cheesy garlic. The portions were generous, and they were tasty.
We asked for to-go boxes so that we could save some room for dessert. We ordered Gulab jamun, which are little round cake, balls soaked in a type of syrup or honey sauce. they were fantastic too.
We had enough food left over to eat a few more meals. We will...
Read moreI am by no means an expert on Indian cuisine, but I was born and raised in Scotland where Indian cuisine is done very well and some menu items here at Bite of India were just not quite right in my opinion.
I ordered chicken tandoori and my girlfriend ordered chicken Tikka. They looked identical when arriving at the table as both had a similar color sauce/garnish on top. I have never had chicken tandoori served with sauce, so I questioned it and was told this is the "traditional way" of cooking it. The sauce was unsurprisingly the exact same. Chicken Tikka and chicken tandoori are spiced differently and shouldn't taste the exact same or look the same so i was very disappointed with it. A quick Google search would clarify the difference and provide images for reference to the drastic difference between the meals. Rice is not provided with either dish.
Papads (I will always refer to them as poppadoms as I believe southern Indian cuisine was more prominent in the UK)..are thin crispy lentil flatbreads. I thought the upselling of the $6 option was disrespectful when 2 papads came out and had essentially just Pico on top. Granted, they removed it from the check, but for perspective..they are typically served as a pre meal appetizing food like when Mexican restaurants put chips and salsa out. You can always order more, but for a fraction of the cost to what was being sold here. Also, there were no dips. Mango/onion chutney or yogurt mint sauce. Again, disappointed.
Good news, the samosas were delicious. Highly impressed with them! Crispy and full of flavor/filling. The naan bread (peshawari is my favorite), was great. My girlfriend loved the garlic naan and dipped in the Tadka Dal fry, they were even better. I would love to see the addition of parathas to the menu and try them too. Service was slow as they had a couple of big parties in and they just opened their doors last week, but I expect that will get better as time goes on. I will eat here again and amend my review if anything changes.
Small edit: after seeing the images uploaded to door dash by Bites of India for the two main courses mentioned earlier, I can confidently say they did not serve us chicken tikka or chicken tandoori that they are displaying on food ordering apps. 3 star review is now 2 star for false...
