Fuji Yama — Restaurant in Evansville

I've ordered from Fuji Yama twice. Both times have been during the covid shut down so I can't comment on the table service or anything like that, although the same woman was at the counter both times and she was very friendly. The food was ready at the specified time both times as well.

The first time I ordered the teriyaki chicken dinner and it was good. Food was tasty and still hot when I got it home, which tells me it hadn't been sitting out for too long like at some places that tell you a time then finish it much sooner.

Last night I ordered a rainbow roll. The first piece I bit into (one with white fish) had a bone in it. I was disappointed but spit the bone out and kept eating. The tuna tasted funny, and tuna is usually one of my favorites. As I was about to eat a piece with salmon the salmon fell off the top of the roll when I saw that the underside of the fish was grey and filmy. I turned on a brighter light to get a better look and sure enough, even the top of all pieces of salmon was too pale to be good. At that point I decided the sushi was not safe to eat and threw the rest away.

I would go back here for cooked food if it was my only option, but with so many other options in town I'd rather avoid a place that gave me unsafe...

Went an hour an half before closing so idk if this is how it normally is but they ran out or yumyum sauce an the shrimp tempura was very very small basically a regular size shrimp cut in half there was maybe 2 full size shrimps cut up an made into a whole sushi roll an for that price I would never go back again but the small.fried rice was very good an filling that's the only.plus side! I have been to.many sushi establishments all.through Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana, florida, Georgia, Missouri, ohio, an Illinois an this was very low on the list would not recommend but then again maybe earlier times is...

First time visiting this place. I ordered food online earlier in the morning. Set pick up for 12:15pm. Got there around 12:10pm. Food was already ready and waiting. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by a very nice young lady who checked us out. The beef teriyaki meal came with salad and a soup which is not pictured. Everything was tasty and fresh. The crab rangoon roll was very good. The short time we were inside getting the food it looked clean and welcoming. They sent us home with soy sauce packets and chopsticks and forks and napkins which was nice. Will be back to eat...
