Lonestar Bar B Que and Soul Food — Restaurant in Evansville

Just getting back from our nashville trip, tired not wanting to cook, we scrolled through food on Google and stumbled on Lonestar! Let me tell yall! First, these guys know how to make cornbread! And It ain't cracker barrel bread! Second, we did order a tad late, so they were sold out of brisket and ribs (the 2 I was wanting lol), the lady on the phone was nice and when we picked the order up, they apologized but also told us to order sooner, lesson learned yall because if the chicken and pork is this dang good those ribs are probably fall of the bone and out of your chair, slap your grandma good! So I ended up getting the 2 meat combo and hubby got the Texas torpedo. My God! ❤️ BEST $36 spent in a while, including Nashville food!! Enough food for left over lunch tomorrow:) we are die hard support you local small business believers, and I'll tell ya what! This is one that will continue to have out business! (I didn't rate the atmosphere due to not dining in, but hubby said everyone was super nice when he picked up our food). Next time we will sit in! I came in by myself, waited in line for several minutes which was okay, shows they have good business. Ordered sat down. Gentleman brought me my food. I noticed I didn't have the extra cup of sauce that I purchased (which is a little high for that small cup but not extremely) I went to the counter and asked for it, they gave it to me, didn't seem to happy. The food was okay, not a moderate portion of pork, the bbq beans was the best part. As I was almost done eating I realized they didn't give me my cornbread that came with the meal, as I looked around I saw other tables with cornbread and at that very moment I realized I just became the one character in the Movie Life that asked Martin Lawrence character if he was going to eat his cornbread, but unlike Martin Lawrence character I didn't get my cornbread. Will I come here again probaly not unless it's just for the beans again the beans are good. But for a restraunt that's begging for customers shouldn't be forgetting customers food that they paid for. I will say I am a huge bbq fan, but specifically Texas bbq! This place is it! I was greeted by a gentleman who was super informative and friendly. I ordered the 2 meat brisket and pork combo with double green beans. (As I am on low carb/dirty keto diet) It was $20, BUT you get what you pay for! Quality meats and super smokey! I asked if it has sauce on it and the man said he's a true Texas bbq man, good bbq doesn't need sauce put on it. However, they do give you a side of bbq sauce with it. I love bbq with a permeating smoke flavor, and this was perfect for my taste. The only thing I couldn't eat were the green beans. They have a lot of sugar in them, but that's the "soul food" vibe. The green beans are also spicy, so if you don't want sweet n spicy do not order. If I wasn't on keto, I would have devoured them! LOL.
