5 stars because there's no Mexican food that comes close. Period.
I can not ever think of another restaurant ever where there is a line of cars all willing to wait 30 to 40 minutes to get food... at 12:30 AM on a Monday night. That's how good their food is. Kristy Kreme for a minute use was busy around here, Chick FIL a was too. But Memos takes the cake. It's open 24hrs. Because it's busy with long lines of customers 24 hours a day.
I have been there at 3:30 in the morning and had to wait to get food. Try to go at 7:30pm? Yikes. You're going to be waiting a while.
And that's the only draw back, and honestly a possible explanation why their lines are so long - They are pretty slow getting the orders out. Note to management: every single little improvement you can make in efficiency right now without sacrificing that amazing flavor will put massively more profits in your pocket.
But I am willing to wait for the best Mexican food I've ever tasted. I can't really go to other places anymore. It's that good. Have I oversold it? Am I making a brash statement? Again, I ask: what other place can you name that has a long line of people willing to wait 30 minutes in a drive thru on a Monday night after midnight? By the way, other nights of the week there are even busier.
The value for what you get is so awesome, it is shocking to be honest. Hey management don't read this part: I can't believe how much perfectly spiced and moist shredded beef I get on a burrito for $6 and change! They could raise their price to $10, and I'd still pay it, because it would still be better than anything else in town.
The other down side is the neighborhood is a little roughish after sundown. Nothing to worry about or anything, just might make the less intrepid a little nervous. But if you are driving around in the casino road neighborhood late at night you are prolly laughing right now anyway.
Overall service speed = ** Neighborhood ambiance = ** Food flavor and value = * So 5...
Read moreDry dry dry. I've tried their machaca burritos a few times, their chorizo burritos a few times, their breakfast burritos a few times...dry dry dry. And their machaca is filled with a lot of things that take the place of meat - huge chunks of green pepper which take over the flavor (and I like green pepper), the onions DO belong there, so that's fine, but their "potatoes" are french fries. French fries. Not chunks of russets or Yukon golds or...No. They're FRENCH FRIES. If I want french fries, I'll go to... But in my "authentic Mexican burrito"?? Are they trying to americanize their food? That's not even "Tex-Mex". If I want bad American "Mexican" food I'd go to...yeah, that place. The machaca meat is dry, not very well seasoned or spiced. (And that's if they give you machaca when you order machaca. I got something absolutely ELSE once. Still not sure what it was.) Their chorizo has been the same. I keep trying them again thinking it might be better, bad day, or maybe it was my tastebuds on that day. And, when I ask for "chips and guacamole" I want chips and guacamole, not a bad attempt at guachos with pre-shredded bag-cheddar cheese on top. If I want pre-shredded bag-cheddar cheese all over my guacamole, I'll straight up order nachos. Or I'll go to...yeah, that place. And the first time I tried their horchata it had a great flavor, was really fun to find one, but it is SO SWEET!! (I know horchata is a sweet drink, but this was over the top.) So, if you like "SO SWEET" then their horchata might be fine for you. Have at it. I won't...
Read moreI meant to order Mamas but accidentally ordered from Memos and I couldn’t have regret it more. Not only was the food terrible but I found an object in the SOUR CREAM. A small piece of jagged tile. What are they doing to a container of sour cream that could have been exposed enough to have an object like that get into it? I almost fed a bite of this to my two year old and thankfully he didn’t want it so it ended up in my mouth instead. The texture of this in my food still haunts me. It could have killed my child. This is so unacceptable. When I told DoorDash, they said they’d give me my money back and they did but at that point it wasn’t about the money. It was about it them making sure this wouldn’t happen again and notify the restaurant to clean and check everything. Since DoorDash was so uninterested in doing more than giving me my money back I called the restaurant myself and asked for a manager and not only did this person barely speak English, which I accepted and didn’t mind, but they seemed to understand me and STILL acted VERY uninterested in the issue, dismissing me with “uh huh” and “I don’t know” and when I told them to clean and check things to prevent this they said “I don’t know.” It’s alarming.
In the last 24 hours I’ve told this to other people who live in Everett who told me about their own experience with random objects found in the food from here…. So be careful with yourself and your children and don’t eat here. It’s...
