Had a great loaded Thanksgiving Sandwich here, just the way my dad used to make it... with turkey, stuffing, mash potato, gravy and cranberry sauce. I know there's a lot of other versions and preferences on this sandwich, but this one tasted of home and comfort and really brought back some good memories of my dad. I had the mini 8" sandwich which should have been 2 lunches for me, but I stuffed myself because it was so good. Next time I'll need to get "The "Gerty" (corned beef, pastrami, swiss, coleslaw and thousand island dressing). I had that long ago and remember it being delicious so will need to try again. Lots of great sandwich options here worth trying.

I ordered the South Philly chicken cheesesteak made with beef. It came with Sautéed Peppers, Onions, Spinach and Provolone Cheese. I like this sandwich as a whole. I was intrigued by the cheese. The cheese slices were either laided on the roll or on top of everything while on the grill because cheese kind of wrapped itself around everything. It made for an interesting cheese experience. The peppers, onions and spinach were very good. They worked well together but I could have used more. The meat was good but a little dry. Nice fresh roll.

I can't believe I've driven by this place for years and never stopped in. Once I did I know I'm going to be going back quite often. I ordered Jersey Angry Pig and OMG it was amazing!!! It was stuffed and full of scrambled eggs with pepper jack cheese, sautéed onions, green peppers, long hot peppers, potatoes, and pork roll served on a 12 inch roll. My friend ate the other half before I could take a picture of the whole thing. I highly recommend this place and I definitely will be back to try other items on the menu!

Been to Dad's Deli off and on for the last several years. I made the trip this past Monday, January 9th 2023 to taste what the new owners were dishing out. And when one of those owners is from Philly's top-tier restaurants...the customer is hoping, actually expecting, only good things. Instead I encountered disappointment. My order consisted of an "Italian Cutlet with provolone, spinach and roasted red peppers". I will say the sandwich was packed and the bread held all the contents in place. The spinach and red peppers were diced and seasoned well, but the main attraction, the chicken cutlets, were dry, hard hockey pucks and the cutlets were thinner in depth than my iPhone. Can't say for sure but they tasted reheated and not fresh at all. Perhaps it was because it was Monday or it was close to closing time or even just a fluke, but whatever the reasoning is...Dad's Deli certainly did not hit the mark that day. I'll try it again some point soon. Just hope I don't follow the old adage of "insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Wanting to end on a good note....the staff that were there that day were very kind, and helpful. Good luck to Dad's Deli and...

We have been going to Dad’s and were so impressed with the food initially. However, today I was so absolutely disappointed. I ordered a buffalo chicken cheesesteak. When I got home, I opened the sandwich and there was no buffalo sauce. When I called the shop, the owner got on the phone and said “ Do you have any buffalo sauce at home?” I explained I did not and he stated “ next time I’ll give you half off a cheesesteak”, but never took my name. My husband decided to drive up there with the chicken cheese steak. When he talked to the owner he offered him a bottle of hot sauce to put on the cheesesteak. My husband explained , “No, I would just like the mistake corrected. “ The owner then turned to the girl at the counter and said,” There always has to be one.” He took the chicken cheesesteak in the back and apparently corrected the problem . When I opened the sandwich this time, there was literally a but a splash of what looks like Texas Pete’s hot sauce on it. I was so disgusted at this point, I threw the sandwich away. This is the third time they have messed up our order, but the first time we called about. With that being said, we will not be...

I hadn't been to Dad's since it changed hands but, WOW! I had heard nothing but great things from everyone I talked to about the new owner at this place so I had to stop in. It wasn't just as good as advertised it FAR exceeded what I heard.

I couldn't decide between a chicken cheese steak or a regular cheese steak and much to my delight they had a sandwich called the Barnyard which had them both, plus bacon and cheese??? uhhhhh YES PLEASE! Sandwich was outstanding and packed with meat.

The staff was so nice and friendly. I met the new owner Matt. He was talking to someone else when I came in but while I was waiting for my food he made sure to come over and introduce himself. His wife and kids were there too and he introduced them to me as well since I had my daughter with me who was around the same age as one of his kids. A friendly, local family is just what this place needed. Only disappointing thing is that I can't give it more than 5 stars.

I've seen everyone rave about the breakfast too and I will be back to try that soon, my mouth was watering looking at all the other food come up!

Best of luck to the new owners and can't wait to...
