So happy to see a restaurant open in this location. Beautifully done inside, family oriented, comfortable. Fun music playing but it's too loud. Couldn't hear each other talk at the table. Turn it down to allow for conversation but that would still allow the music for entertainment. Service was okay. Language barrier hindered us from getting all that we wanted as waitress was Spanish speaking only and would shake her head to say doesn't understand, lots of pointing and repeating. No biggie, we got most of it, just some missing and some wrong. A side of guac for the chips is $9. Asked for water and we were brought bottles that we found out were $2 each. Again no biggie, just sent them back and tried explaining. Drinks are nonalcoholic. The ones we had were delicious and served in a festive way. Food, much of it was bland surprisingly. Quesadilla came out cold, just some shredded cheese between the tortilla and the cheese was not melted at all, no flavor. Rice had no flavor...none. The meats were decent, garlic sauce was nice but needed more of it. Shrimp was cut but not cleaned down the back. The food we had was just not that tasty when we think of mexican food. You get chips and salsas when you sit which is nice. I saw a lot of dishes on other tables that I might try, like the nachos or the churros and ice cream. Prices of some things are high for what you get. Might give it another try but there are other new ones in the area to try as well to...
Read moreWifey and i popped out on a Sunday date nite and decided to go to El Gordo Taco know to us in highschool in the eighties as Parkway Pizza it was like going "Back to the Future" without a Deloreon. I had the shrimp burrito 🌯 with fries i have to admit as a foodie and a restauranteur the burrito was on the smaller side compared to other Mexican restaurants in the surrounding area but was very tasty. Wifey had the barria tacos 🌮 with a large Horchata & i had a Pina colada but my dumb arse forgot to bring my 151 rum airplane bottles. The Food was good I would definitely return to try another menu item. We love to support small biz and form our own opinions about restaurants. The only possible small speed bump I could see for this establishment is the language difference but at least it's truly authentic so maybe I need to learn more Spanish 😀. Decor is amazing with a mix of Mexican charm and the strong skeletal structure of Parkway Pizza 🍕 from the floor to the brick wall and pizza ovens. Good luck guys I tried to buy this from "Grace" but it wasn't meant to be. Much Success in your future and sell the back lot to the highschool you make a mint! If you own it just put my 20% to the...
Read moreIn between real estate appointments, I stopped at El Mexicano Tacos El Gordo 2 for lunch. What an amazing restaurant and experience. The decor and ambiance is one of a kind. We ordered the Taquiza to sample a variety of the tacos. All I have to say is WOW!! The Al Pastor tacos (pork and pineapple) were the perfect blend of sweet and savory. The birria tacos were rich and absolutely delicious. I also loved the tacos de charro. The steak was tender and the onions were sauteed perfectly. The staff was friendly and very attentive. I can't wait to return! If you're looking for authentic Mexican food, I highly recommend giving this place a try! Also, they have a private room for parties or meetings.
Ps... I never take bathroom pics, but I had to this time! The design of the restaurant is even seen in...
