Vallarta Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Exeter

I have never quite understood what was so great about tacos or burritos but after eating here, I know why. The fish taco and shrimp taco I tried was just amazing. The fish was cooked to perfection, the shrimp was done just right. You could tell how fresh the food was. Then, just when you thought things couldn't get better, the shrimp quesadilla is brought forth, and surprisingly, it just surpasses everything in flavour.

Not to mention that the service was amazing and the place is very clean.

My only complain is that it's raised the bar so high that I am unsure if I can enjoy Mexican food elsewhere anymore.

PS: My wife just ordered the flan and... why does this place just have 4.3...

The food is ok, nothing wow! Deffenitely not authentic Mexican food. The service is really good though. I used to work here on the weekends and did admire their love for their customers. Never saw the other waitresses wash their hands and if we see napkins that haven't been used on a table after customers leave we reuse them (grouss). The kitchen is super clean though and so are the bathrooms (I know because I cleaned the bathrooms twice a day!). Food is not made upeon order, not the rice the beans or the chile rellenos. The chile rellenos are premade and stored in the pantry, and they deffenitely love to use their microwave! I THINK they recycle chips not sure but I think...

Years ago I ordered the pollo casa...and got one of the worst cases of food poisoning I ever had. Didn't go back for years. A family member held a birthday party there several years later. I thought maybe it was a fluke and ordered plain old ground beef tacos. You can't go wrong with tacos, right? No vomiting but stomach cramps and gas. Other friends and family members have complained of the same over the years. If you want to order yourself an entree of gastroenteritis with N/V/D on the side, this is the place for you! Used to be a hometown favorite. Sad to see the decline in quality and obviously care for the food. BE FOREWARNED...
