This place was terrible, the food was completely awful! My husband and I looked online for a place that had great reviews for authentic Mexican food. We just moved here from Visalia so thought we’d try a place out in Exeter. The reviews were completely deceiving and the food was disgusting. We ordered 2 shrimp cocktails, 2 asada tacos and asada fries. The shrimp cocktails.. let’s just say they should change the name to “tomato cocktail”, this tomato cocktail had 5 shrimp! Yes, 5 shrimp… seriously?! and they sure over charge for this tomato cocktail with 5 shrimp. So disappointing. The asada tacos were tiny, oily, flavorless and the meat was tough. The asada fries.. I’m sure they were made from frozen fries that were soggy, with tough flavorless asada meat, cold cheddar cheese and gross canned beans. I’m sorry people but please try food elsewhere before you offer a good review on restaurants and claim they are “authentic Mexican food” when they are simply gross over priced restaurants that take advantage of people that live in small towns who choose to eat locally. This is just sad, my husband and I were so excited to try this place out because of the great reviews and thought we might find a hidden gem in Exeter, but we were wrong. I never post reviews but this was definitely something I needed to write...

The Good News: Great server and my Bacon Wrapped Shrimp was very good.
The Short Review: Most of the food was too salty.
The Details: The breading on my wife's fish fillets was oily (undercooked) and impossibly salty. The rice and beans for both us was too salty. I was able to fix mine with crushed chips and mixing it with the small salad on the plate. I don't think that my wife suceeded in this at all.
The guacamole was watery, bland, and only briefly acquainted with any avocado. I believe our waitress tried to warn us and I did not pick up the hint. Stale chips.
Some of the items at the salsa bar are blindingly hot. Not necessarily a bad thing at a Mexican restaurant, but taste carefully before committing
This is a tough review to write. Small town family restaurant that we wanted to like. But the food is primary and we...
Read moreDelicious food at a great price. We came in for an early lunch (9/27/20) and was directed to the back patio for outside dining. There was plenty of room and tables were well spaced out. Servers were very friendly, they wore masks and place was very clean. Chips and salsa at the table right as we sat down. I chose a carne asada torta, and two tacos. My daughter ordered pasole. The owner Juan was telling me all items were available during open hours, we were there at 9am and ordered lunch, no problem. He said everything was available for take-out as well. We'll be back for sure. Great authentic Mexican food, at a...
