I had a terrible and deeply disappointing experience at the Panda Express located at 523 Harold Bentley, Fairbanks, AK. I placed an online order for a string bean chicken chow mein bowl and a bigger plate with three items: chow mein, orange chicken, grilled teriyaki chicken, and one other item I forgot. The system allowed me to check out smoothly, even though I missed selecting a third item, and when I arrived, the staff didn’t raise any concerns. At the drive-thru window, the staff appeared confused—they couldn’t find my order, and at one point, I saw an employee take my item away and then bring it back after some time. I still don’t know if my original items were swapped or altered during that moment. When I opened my order, it was completely wrong. Instead of the string bean chicken chow mein bowl, I received an orange chicken bowl. For the bigger plate, I only received chow mein and orange chicken, and it wasn’t even a bigger plate as I paid for—it was a smaller, regular-sized portion! In other words, I received one item: orange chicken. I felt utterly ripped off. To make it even worse, the outside of the containers was labeled with the correct descriptions of my order, but the food inside was completely different. This is incredibly deceptive. Adding insult to injury, I arrived at 9:30 PM, well before their stated closing time of 10 PM, only to find the doors locked! I had to order a drive-thru before 10:30 pm. It’s clear that this location not only fails in customer service but also engages in dishonest practices, whether it’s lying about food items, delivering incorrect orders, or closing earlier than advertised hours. This experience was an unacceptable breach of trust and service quality. The next day, I spoke to the store manager about the situation where they made the wrong food for my order. The manager promptly...
Read moreBroke down tonight and joined in the craziness and got Panda Express ( it’s new here in Fairbanks) well needless to say I don’t know what all the hype is all about. I ordered the large plate ( so I could taste different things.. I got the 1/2&1/2 Lo main & Fried Rice, Beef Broccoli, Teriyaki Chicken . Then an Ala cart which by the way the size of a small fries worth for $5 was not worth- of the Sesame Chicken. Then spring rolls and chicken egg rolls. The boys got the fried rice or Lo mein and orange chicken and teriyaki chicken- of course they ate theirs but they are boys.
Outside of the efficient online ordering system, pick up method, made right in front of me, and the fast nice service and a beautiful building- didn’t even have to wait in line and tons of open seating… I’m not impressed though with the food. The boys said well that’s what you get for cheap Chinese food. Am I the only one who thought the fried Rice tastes like bland brown rice, the Lo mein was dry- not even moist, the beef broccoli had no flavor or seasoning and the broccoli tasted like it was just cut off the head. The teriyaki chicken was very tender with very little flavor but edible, the sesame honey chicken was damp but not crispy very little flavor. The spring rolls were ok and the chicken egg rolls are ok too, both definitely needed sauce. And I’m not a egg roll dipping kind of girl. I ended up giving the food to the boys… I hope it’s better for others and I want new business’ to succeed but to me I won’t go back, I’d much rather eat the cheap Chinese food at the Seattle airport lol but locally I’ll go to the mom & pop shops for my Chinese, Japanese and Thai that I have regularly gone to. Bummed to...
Read moreI don't take giving a one star review lightly, I have enjoyed panda since they opened, and at times it's been very good. I was excited when they came to town. Today I got the worst food poisoning of my adult life. I knew something wasn't going well in the restaurant, they have been looking for managers via signage outside the restaurant for ages, the dine in was closed today due to lack of staff. A single vehicle/clerk held up a line of cars for at least 25 minutes in the drive through, there was no capacity to have them drive into a parking spot to keep the line moving while they solved whatever problem was happening. I almost just drove through once I finally reached the window but decided it would be rude to bolt after ordering. The clerk didn't know what my order was and wrote it down again by hand, I got my food several minutes later and departed. Once I started eating it was beyond cold and I found a hair in the bottom of my food, I discarded the little remaining food and went about my busy afternoon. Roughly 4 hours later I had the worst sickness of my life in the lower gastrointestinal region and it was the final straw. I decided to write this review and that it's my last visit to panda express until they return to some form of standards. I have no dietary restrictions and no ill will towards the franchise or the staff, I believe they have a...
