I visited on a Tuesday evening to try this relatively new chicken place conveniently located close to a favorite eatery. The ordering kiosk proved easy to navigate, and I believe I could have placed my order with friendly attendants if I wished. The interior looks clean and well maintained. I ordered a medium heat chicken tenders and waffles along with side orders of fries, cole slaw, and an extra waffle and a peach iced tea. My food was ready in about ten minutes, and I took my trays outside to eat (the music inside struck me as a tad loud and distracting).

The chicken was hot, flavorful, moist, and spiced mostly as advertised. The mildly seasoned fries were similarly hot with a welcome crunch. The side of slaw had some bite both in feel and taste and thankfully was not over dressed like some versions I have had elsewhere. The waffles were high points with the chicken: hot with a satisfying contrast of a crusty exterior and a slightly chewy interior, sweetened with some powdered sugar to counteract the spice heat from the chicken. The only letdown for me came in the form of my beverage which had an odd aftertaste that washed out any peach flavor for me. (I should note that I do like the ability to customize the sugar content.)

The total bill came to just under $25 excluding tax and tip. I left feeling I received a good value for my meal with the exception of the iced tea which I would likely not have again. The food on the other hand I would have again. Two ladies gave me a warm and rather enthusiastic thank you as I returned my empty trays. I encourage those in the vicinity to try this place to get a somewhat different but high quality chicken...

Decided to try this place out and see for myself the spice level of the chicken and everything else.

When you walk in there is not much room to stand while you wait. You walk in with a refrigerator to your left and soda fountain kiosk. Directly in front of you is a kiosk machine to make your order either dine in or take out. I chose take out for today. To your right are two sets.of tables with chairs. So, if you male your order using the machine and have people behind you, you will either be on top of each other or bump into the people sitting down at the table waiting for their order. If your sitting at the table then you have people next to you in line waiting to order while you eat your meal which is why I am giving this place 4 stars.

The food options are easy and simple to order. Chose your meal, spice level, drink and if you want more sides and boom pay and done. I ordered the chicken Sando combo meal which is a Chicken sandwich with coleslaw and pickle with fries and a drink. It came out to roughly $18.50. The spice level I chose was spicy. The chicken was a good sized portion, moist, and spice well by the time I got to my last bite the spice kicked in and it was a medium to hot spice. The fries came with a spiced mayonnaise based dip which was ok.

I would say this place is a good place to fill your belly with food and not a bad place...

I ordered take out. I wanted to try a small business near my home. I ordered at exactly 4:17 for pick up between 17:00 and 17:30 (5:00-5:30). I arrived at 4:50. I was the 1st of 2 other people in line and exactly 5 seated. I was told my order was not ready. I understood because I was not within my pickup time. I waited until 5:15 and asked again. I was told my order was not ready. I asked again at 5:23, this time a women at the counter a checked my emailed receipt, and asked why I had not received my order? I couldn't answer... I am wondering the same thing. She goes to the counter picks up my order and gives it to me. Turns out my order simply was not placed in the togo area. So it was over looked. Regardless, the fires were crispy but cold. The sandwich matches the pictures, but was so incredibly cold ( and the microwave made it rubbery). Tbh, I ordered the sandwich with provelone($1) and fries. The coleslaw and pickles were on the side. I paid 18.81 for an underwhelming sandwich, and cold fries that took almost 30 minutes to receive. Go to Chic-fil-a, it's 2 miles further, cheaper with great service,...

2/12/23 Upon seeing a sign from my car of Waffle Fries, I was drawn into Hangry Joe's. Upon entering inside the store of Hangry Joe's I saw something I haven't had for a long time. I wanted to try Fried Orkra; as well, as The Waffle Fries. I saw there were a number of other chicken options I would like to try, but I will hold off on this until next week or the following. I will say the Korean Chicken caught my eye; as well, as the Macaroni and Cheese. These will have to be without any kind of spice to it. This might prove challenging, because Hangry Joe's is a race car and he's in the red. He could blow. I dislike spicy food, but my wife loves it. The restaurant apparently started out from Nashville Tennessee, but has now opened its doors in Maryland and Virginia from what I have seen. I have checked to see where else they have opened up, but am sure there a lit of other places. I look forward to trying more of their foods very soon.
