The staff here is what made our first visit to this place a good one. Very friendly people for sure. It wss packed for being a Wednesday middle of the day which was an indication that the food was going to be good. I had the half pound ribeye and three eggs, the river was definitely some lower grade meat and had a kind of off hate to it, but it wasn't bad, the eggs were really good.
This is part the dropping the score for me is, so much of them menu is massive amounts of carbs, I eat keto (or low carb, high fat) and my plate came with 3 eggs, the ribeye, potatoes, and choice between a muffin, toast, and pancakes with no possible substitution of veggies or something with lower carbs in it. The potatoes the only substitution I could have received that was a fruit bowl which I went for, but the amount of fruit didn't make up for what I was giving in portion size. I definitely intend to go back to try something else off the menu, but it really only seems like a keto friendly place if you stay in the section of the omelets.
But I will say I got the muffin to give to my kids and I tried a small amount of it, and it was really good. So for you non strict eaters who don't have the mental disease of obsessing over what you put into your body I think you would enjoy this place for sure because my wife and kids all seemed to really...
Read moreMy husband and I visit this establishment often, generally treated with friendly and good service . However, today was quite the contrary. Upon our arrival I let 3 women go ahead of me entering the door they gave their name to the hostess and then I did the same. We were told a 5 to 10 minute wait. Several minutes later a woman and man and 2 children entered and gave their name. I then approached the hostess and told her that I believed I was next but I was going to check on my husband. Her reply was “oh you are not next”. I thought to myself how am I not next?. About that time my husband came in. Several other parties arrived and put their names in. Then the other hostess looked at me and said “I’m going to seat them and I’ll be back to seat you . The party she was seating was the party that came in well after I did. I was not understanding why I was being treated this way. Then when we were called she said is the smaller booth ok or do you want the bigger booth?” We took the smaller booth then when we sat I looked at the two larger booths across from us both had been seated with single people. At this point I realized that for some unknown reason I have been singled out to receive this negative treatment!. As much as my husband likes the food I will not be back to be...

Before saying anything else I'd like to point out that the staff was amazing. They were absolutely slammed when we walked in and yet they were so friendly and attentive. The kitchen was fast and we had zero issue with our service.
But for what we paid, our meal was incredibly underwhelming. We ordered two cappuccinos, and what we got was clearly from an instant coffee machine that you see at a gas station. For $5.39 each, I would have expected a fresh coffee drink made from an actual espresso machine. We also ordered the Huckleberry Waffle. The waffle itself was nice and fluffy, but the topping was more like a pie filling than a fresh fruit topping. For over $13, that was disappointing. Finally, we ordered the Tom' Scramble. The chicken fried steak was OK-- have had better, have had worse -- but the gravy was clearly from a can and the biscuits tasted as if they were frozen at one point.
After tip, we spent $50 on a totally disappointing breakfast. Nothing appeared fresh or made in house, so considering that fact the prices are pretty outrageous for what you're getting.
Again, lovely staff - the employees could not have been more professional or gracious. But if you're looking for real, Southern cooking, your money is better...
