The food was good that's why I'm giving 2 stars otherwise it would be a 1. I never thought I'd experience racism in a minority restaurant (we were the only African Americans in the restaurant). When my two year old and I got there, we decided to sit outside, we were sat for about 20 minutes and no one came to help us. Ok fine, i figured they were busy so we decided to go find a table inside. When the server came, I told her we had been sitting outside for 20mins, she brushed it off saying ok ok what do you want to drink. Strike two. I yet again, I ignored it with the understanding that they're possibly busy and she wanted to get the orders in quickly. We ordered our food which took a while, there was a table with a family of 6 that sat at least 15mins after us which got their food before us (remember it was myself and a toddler). Anyways, our food came, they didn't bring my son's drink, they didn't check on us the entire time we ate so i couldn't ask for his drink. I literally watched the manager go around asking all the tables if everything was good, he didn't even bother to make eye contact with me. I tried several times to get his attention to ask for our check (still our server had not come to our table since she took our order). I had been waiting for so long, i ended up getting up and going upfront to ask for our check and my son's drink (to go at this point). The lady I spoke to seemed sincere, however, when our server came to give us our check and my son's drink, she didn't even acknowledge us or apologize for not bringing his drink with his food. She just set the check and drink on the table and walked away. I was highly disappointed and left the restaurant...
Read moreHave eaten in here and gotten takeout a few times and it's been ok/fine if you keep expectations on the low side. Meals can be salty or, alternatively, w/o a lot of flavor if you don't add salsas, etc. Booths are dumpy/askew; you might end up sitting by the kitchen, swatting flies away, etc. Our most recent visit was eat-in. I ordered flautas (steak) for the first time. What was served was inedible. Over-fried, oily-tasting, with a too-thick shell. Meat was of questionable freshness (it was a Sunday), or maybe simply tasted awful because it was way overdone and fried rather than grilled, or grilled and then further fried. Flauta was stuffed only with the meat, so it was otherwise without taste/flavor. This was one of the worst restaurant meals I've ever received; one of the worst in decades. Worse than anything you'd get from a county fair stand. I ate only one of the three flautas and stopped because I didn't enjoy it at all and feared I would get sick. Husband started to eat one to help and I warned him to stop; that he wouldn't want it. He agreed it was badly prepared/overdone. Server (w/ communication barrier) didn't seem to notice/care when we told him it was bad as he took away the nearly full plate. Didn't offer to comp the meal or serve something else. Not helping matters was that during the meal, the strong smell of cleaning fluid started to permeate the restaurant. Couldn't this be done when customers are not in the space?! I felt sick the 40-minute ride home (burping several times and hoping I didn't need to roll down the window or have husband stop the car) and I couldn't wait to get a Tums and a soda to...
Read moreThis is the best Mexican Restaurant in all of Ohio. As a Latino who has gone here for 10 years and has tried other so called Mexican restaurants, this is the only one I ever go to. The tacos here are as tacos should be made. The enchiladas and Especial de La Casa, stripped chicken with rice and melted cheese on top, are very tasty entrees. The portions are correct for the price you are paying. This place is always packed so one shouldn't complain if you are not seated right away as this is common in restaurants that are very popular. Additionally I do know the owners and they are owned by Latina sisters. Overall this place is great and the servers here are like any other servers in other restaurants. They don't offer chips when they ask to take your order but does that really matter, you're going to be charged regardless and I can assure you they are never free at other restaurants. If you don't think this is real Mexican food then just go to Mexico or Baja California. Overall I would 10/10 recommend you to go here. There are other Latino restaurants you can go to but those are considered gourmet or are not authentic to...
