Mr. Chen — Restaurant in Fall River

Let me start off by saying that Dominic is a very caring and understanding owner. He only wants the best interest for his customers. When he lets someone down, you can tell that he wants to not make that mistake again. I ordered for the first time today. I was on hold for 10 minutes after I tried ordering online, and the online system was saying my work address wasn't a place they deliver to industrial park Fall River, Ma. I then wait on hold to confirm if this was accurate. Apparently, it wasn't. The female that answered the phone was nice, and you could tell she was over whelm, especially cause I wasn't really on hold. I kinda over herd some stuff. She said 45 minutes, and it was closer to an hour, which is okay. Then I voiced my concerns directly to Dominic about the online telling me I can't have their food delivered here because had I not called or waited on hold, I would have just order else where. I had patience. Dominic, message me to reinsure my order would be here any minute it was here, like in a minute or two from when he said that. I had been thinking about calling but didn't have to. The other minor issue was the recite had no where for me to sign or to write a tip. I did my best there and let Dominic know to make sure his nephew, my delivery driver, got tipped. I used to be a delivery driver, and it can be a hustle. Anyway, my food was better than expected. I am a picky eater, but it was all good. I asked for no rice and got pork fried rice, and had I ordered it, I would have asked for it strained. I loved the orange chinken meal, especially because every other place does the orange chinken with broccoli and rice his establishment does two appetizers and a rice, which I love. The chicken fingers and sauce were good. I am intrigued to see how Portuguese food and Chinese food blend. I will diffently be a returning customer. I know he will work out all the issues with time and be a very successful establishment. Thank you for reaching out to me and caring.

The 2nd time I went was in person. I ordered and paid online. It said 25 mins it would be ready. I showed up at 46 mins from when it was ordered and it wasn't ready, but it was a big order. I drove up to Warwick, RI with it. My fiance and our friend loved it. It's worth the wait, whether it's in person or delivery. We diffently will be returning if food stays...

The Service:

The employee answering the phone was polite and knowledgeable with respect to the menu. The friendliness and good customer service carried over to the pickup experience. My order was ready and packaged at the designated time.

The atmosphere (relative to the venue type) is inviting with pockets of quirkiness capturing your eye in the decor. The counter area and Boba tea preparation stations appeared clean. The small scale booth style seating area was tidy.

The Food:

The chicken and broccoli was very flavorful and delicious. The vegetables tasted fresh and were cooked perfectly leaving my desirable crunchiness. The chicken was tender and lightly seasoned pairing well with the robust sauce. I appreciated the sauce not being overly sweetened. I ordered very spicy but the heat level was mild as I imagine it’s tailored to an American pallet.

The rice was moderately disappointing due to its grainy texture. The two appetizers (included in the meal: 4 chicken fingers and 4 crab rangoons) were good. I would categorize the crab rangoon and chicken fingers as slightly above industry standards.

The Value:

Excellent value for the quality and quantity of food. The portions are of abundance leaving leftovers for another full meal. Two adults could split this dinner and feel satiated. The to go containers are suited for transport and heat retention- an attention to detail worth noting.

Well I was following the Facebook hype and pictures of the amazing looking food that this restaurant posts on facebook and went to go eat dinner there with my wife thinking I was going to get the best experience and bomb food... well I got extremely disappointed order the basic pupu plater fried rice and a wonton soup let's start with the soup, average to say the least and not hot at all .. The fried rice was good but room temperature. The pupu plater was probably the reason for the 3 stars and honestly should have been 2 stars. The chicken fingers still had wet batter inside them and ice cold. The chicken wings were burnt and the only thing that was hot witch was good. The boneless spareribs were ice cold. Like they got pulled out of the fridge the fried shrimp well 1 bite and couldn't eat anymore of them. Also ordered food to go and my son wouldnt even eat it cause it was under cooked and had a funky smell to it ...This was probably my worst experience at a Chinese restaurant....... sorry to be brutally honest on this post but the food was well below average. When u spend your hard earned money to go out to dinner you expect to have a decent meal. I literally could have made ramen at home and enjoyed it more...... maybe I will give them another shot but I wouldnt drive 30 min again to just go there like the first time.
