If Google allowed you to give half-stars, this would be a 2-1/2 star review. Alas, no such luck. I’d have gone to 3 stars, but the ungenerous “large” pie said not to.
Nice cashier but everyone else is sketchy. Kinda clean, but without a doubt this is hood pizza. Large pie here is a medium or small anywhere else (even from Domino’s). Greasy overall, thin yet spongy crust, forgettable cheese and toppings and the sauce is bland sprinkled with garlic salt. Did they just buy a bunch of frozen pizzas to thaw out, throw store-bought toppings on and cook upon request?
I get it; you want to support friends, family and/or local businesses and if you don’t know any better you probably think this is dynamite compared to trash like Domino’s and Pizza Hut, and it’s not like driving to Providence or Boston for luxury-style pizza is all that practical (or even worth it?)
On other hand, you could save yourself a few bucks and trouble just buying a Marketplace pizza from the closest Walmart Grocery/Supercenter or better yet a take-and-bake pizza from Whole Foods and still save money and get a better pizza experience. Really, don’t knock it til you try it.
If the ratings are any indication, people are very loyal to the owner who is probably the nicest person in town, but as an obvious out-of-towner I feel bad that this is the best anyone can do for pizza around here. It’s edible, but banal at best. Kudos to the young lady cashier for being pleasant and professional…
Going to the supermarket and getting a take-and-bake from the fresh meals section will give you the same or better and you’ll save money. Your...
Read moreDisgusting! I have supported and ordered from this business since they opened. Ordered tonight at 6:30, was told 45 minute wait. Called around 7:45 was told the driver just left with the food. Got a call at 8:17 saying he was outside (I live 7 minutes away) - went to open the door and bring the food in. After waiting almost two hours and $50 later the food was ice cold and looked like it was someone’s leftovers. Called and spoke to the wonderful all star employee at the counter who blamed door dash for them being behind and then tried to say she never said anything about door dash. The customers who call or place their orders online should be your main concern or at least call them and say delivery is going to be 2 hours and I would have went to pick it up. Sam wasn’t available to talk but his lawyer/receptionist said he would give us a discount on our next order. I will never order from here again even if the food was free just for the way he let his employee throw attitude around to a customer when the issue stemmed from them to begin with. My husband and I both each own a small business and understand you may be short staffed etc. but if you are at fault - take accountability for it. Do not blame your customers for...
Read moreThe first time we ordered from Sam's it was excellent. I got a steak bomb w hot peppers extra provolone and Mayo. My bf got Sam's special pizza and he enjoyed it thoughly. The place is nice, very clean and lady at the counter was friendly. This time we ordered, it was a disappointment since the last time was so good. I ordered the same sandwich except I forgot to click extra provolone and got American (my error) however they did charge an extra 1.50 and it was basically 1 slice broken up and just haphazardly tossed on the top. My Mayo was smeared under the American (never seen that b4). I also had many huge chunks of jalapeno (wasn't like that last time). It just wasn't an enjoyable sandwich and I ended up throwing half out. My bf said his pizza was okay. I also had ordered a brownie but received something entirely different. It didn't eat it. I hate to be the person to leave a bad review, especially since times are tough due to Covid. This is why I still give a 10% tip even though I pick it up. I'm upset because I work hard for my money (short staffed too) and I don't like just throwing it away. Perhaps it was a off night idk...not sure if I want to order again...
