An old mill bldg., essentially completely modified with new sound and lighting systems, obstructed polls removed, new chairs, a wonderful art gallery. A gem to see / hear live music. Very well-run by staff and volunteers, offers coffee, tea, water, other pastries. It is a BYOB so bring what you want to eat, drink. It has a new elevator, has a/c for the summer months. Free parking behind the venue, some on the streets. Attracts the top acts of every genre of music. Prices are very fair. Accessible right off of route 195 East, 20’ from Providence, RI. Holds 430 if completely sold out ( that includes the 130 newer seats in the back - which are actually pretty close to the stage). Some tables usually reserved for donors / patrons. I have visited 100’s of times and anticipate many more. Worth a visit for a live show or even to view the art exhibits call for hours.
The second floor is also newly renovated and there are vendors that you can visit pre-show. Bathrooms available on 2nd and 3rd floors. Doors usually open at 7pm for an 8pm show. Check it out, very well worth it…in business approximately 21-22 years. Excellent venue and leadership…enjoy. Also available for private functions - again, call...
Read moreThis was my first time attending an event at the Narrows Center. Located in Fall River, Massachusetts, just a short distance off of Route 195. The Venue is in an old Mill Building on the 3rd floor. The Show was scheduled to start at 8PM and we got there just after 6:30, with doors opening at 7:00. There was already a line when we got there, so I do recommend one should get there as early as possible, since it's open seating. They only serve coffee, water, and some desserts, but you can bring whatever you want to drink, and many people had coolers with their drinks for the night. The room held maybe a couple hundred people and the sound was outstanding. Almost all the seating had good views of the stage. One can reserve a table for about $250, but the seating behind the tables offered good views. We went to see Amy Helm, and she and her Band were excellent, and as I mentioned earlier, the sound was outstanding. I certainly recommend this Venue as a place to see some excellent shows and the tickets where very reasonable, $35.00. I definitely plan to attend shows there in the future and don't forget to bring what you want to drink and eat. Highly...
Read morePerforming Arts of multiple types. Most music entertainment starts at 8pm. You must stand outside by 6:15 pm for good general admission seats. Doors open at 7pm. Depending on the weather it could be a cold and damp wait. The stage is elevated 2 feet. Other than buying a donation table you sit in a semi-circle around the stage on mostly padded chairs. There are some bench seats. The 1st 50 people in line have the best option for front or side row seats. Some dancing is allowed to right of stage that can detour from your listening pleasure. The entire place holding 500 seats has AC and bathrooms including handicap facilities. We had a wonderful time. The sound system is good and maintained by a technician throughout the venue. The venue is BYO snacks and BYOB. Small concession stand for snacks and drinks. You'll find alot of Fall River history on the walls. Open daily for those to view art exhibits. Definately...
