The Brewhouse District — Restaurant in Fall River

I had an extremely disappointing experience at this restaurant today that I feel compelled to share. From the start, service was problematic. While our server was friendly when taking our order, it became clear the restaurant was understaffed with only one person working initially. We ordered cocktails (Manhattan and Margarita) and food, but after we ordered, the server came back to tell us they didn’t have the ingredients for the Manhattan, so we ended up with margaritas instead. After 45 minutes, our food arrived while we were still waiting for our drinks. When I inquired about the drinks, I was told they’d be “two minutes” - apparently the server didn’t know how to make cocktails and there was no bartender available. Another staff member had to come in to make our drinks, which finally arrived during our meal. The billing issue was even more frustrating. When ordering, I asked about french fries and was told they didn’t have them but I could substitute onion rings for the chips that came with my meal. However, when the bill came, I was charged an additional $6.99 for the onion rings. When I questioned this, explaining I was told it was a substitution, I was told I’d have to pay extra and could have the original chips instead. What made the situation particularly uncomfortable was when we asked for the chips we had paid for, we could clearly hear the cook in the back yelling at the staff about our request. The unprofessional scene he was creating with his employees was audible throughout the restaurant, making an already poor experience even more unpleasant for everyone present. Between the service delays, billing confusion, and the unprofessional behavior toward staff, I cannot recommend this establishment. Decided to go out to somewhere new in hopes of finding a new place to love that’s local in Fall River. Came across this place and man, was it worth popping in. The menu is small but it’s due to a majority of the menu being made from scratch. I ordered the pot roast that came with a garlic knot, fresh mashed, and broccoli. The portion was perfect. Not overwhelmingly but definitely not leaving hungry. To say it was like having a home cooked meal is an understatement. We chatted with the owner and learned all about this place. Got some recommendations and even sampled their Brewhouse Bomb which was caffeinated coffee milk. Honestly, some of the best I’ve ever had.
