Where to begin; we decided to an impromptu celebration of the missus new job and she craved sushi. However with the weather being what it is she didnt want to travel far so we elected for the local choice. Now, I dont eat sushi so i can only give what her side of it is as best i can, but lets do this in order. We arrived before dinner rush as our norm, plenty of staff and seated instantly, unfortunately thats where the staff side ended. During the course of the visit, or waitress rarely made eye contact, didnt smile and seemed more intereated in what was going on around her than the table she was at. For appetizers, i love me some potstickers. They arrived hot... i mean hot hot... i had to cut them open to vent them to be able to eat them. Thats not a complaint, just a heads up. The filling was flavorful, and the outer shell fried nicely, my only complaint was that outer shell was very thick. The outside was crispy but the inside of the shell was a bit chewy for my liking. The missus had edamame, however they were a little overcooked so she wasnt a fan. Part of the wifes meal was something called Chinese Nachos, some sort of crab topped deep fried seaweed... I think... Our waitress couldnt tell us what it was (another reason the staff disappointed) but speaking straight, it was delicious. I dont know what it was, but it was packed full of flavor, the crispiness of the fried wafer with the coolness of the crab like toping was an amazing creation. I only with it was more than 6 individual bites. I ordered the Chicken Fried Rice (My staple for these kinda resturaunts) and the chicken chow mein. Both come as family style dishes, with a big spoon for serving. Honestly each plate probably served 3 helpings so for the price and quantity, its a steal. Quality on the other hand was only so so. The chicken was flavorful but the rice and the chow mein were both overcooked. The veggies in them were fresh but i felt it lacked flavor, like it had been made and reheated. It wasn't bad, it just wasnt very good either. The missus had one of the sushi boxes (comes with different rolls and runs about 30 bucks, i dont recall the name). There was something off putting about the sushi rice. She described it like a vinegary flavor that over powered the other ingredients (e.g. Fish, avocado, etc). Visually they looked amazing, but she ended up picking the fish off the sushi to enjoy it without the rice. All in all, the trip wasn't bad. If your looking for average Chinese food, that isnt wallet breaking then the wok isnt a bad choice. If your looking for quality and/or sushi, I would suggest broadening your search to include a bit of travel.

My son and I went to this restaurant two weeks ago and ordered takeout Chinese, it was average and needed a lot more flavor. We took my wife and granddaughter two nights ago for sushi, the rolls were small, it took a long time for the sushi to be brought to our table, when we received our last three rolls one of them were so dry and chewy my son and I could not eat it all of it. The other two rolls were falling apart and the fish smelled like it had been sitting on the counter all day, I am surprised none of us didn't get sick. When we asked for the check we were told we would have to pay full price for the two pieces left on the plate and the dry nasty roll, after telling the server about the issues with the food she got an attitude and said she would get the manager, to make this shorter: we paid $.50 extra and left. We will not return to this restaurant I have never been charged for food that was bad and I have never been treated or spoken to by a manager this way I my life. Bad service, bad food, bad staff attitude, all around terrible everything. It sure was not worth the $128.00 we spent.

I got the Cantonese dinner. I chose the Chinese chicken salad. That was okay but a you might see in the picture, the lettuce is iceberg and not green with a lot of the white rib of the lettuce leaf. Surprisingly, it wasn't too bad.... maybe because of the dressing 🤷🏽‍♂️. The paper wrapped chicken is horrible, (it's the one that is wrapped in aluminum shaped like a triangle). The crab cheese puff was okay at best. The egg roll was actually half decent. The BBQ fried rice is really horrible because it's super dry and lacks any flavor. The house special chow mein was the best item, it was good and it tasted better when you added some soy sauce. The service wasn't that bad but I didn't dine in so, I don't know the full extent of the service there. I might come back just to get the house special chow mein, but I doubt it.

💞💞💞💞💞💞HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR MIRACLE GIRL SOPHIA— who is into the double digits today!!!!!!! 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸💓💓💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞🌸 I have not been in a restaurant or out to eat in approximately three years. !!! (If I have it has been once maybe twice. beg of covid ) and once we finally get to the point we are told we can relax in the pandemic , NOW our lil family gets to deal with my little “speed bump” and treatments. the diagnoses are fairly new so i’m just… i want my old body back. ) (Now there are all of these precautions we have to take so I didn’t think i would find anyone to accommodate us at all! when you’re in chemo you have to have a few more accommodations to keep it safe while body has low/no immune system. ) BUT I AM THANKFUL FOR EVERYDAY- don’t get me wrong i’m TOTALLY not complaining just tired of it lately i guess. days like today i just wanna do all normal stuff ya know ???? it her birthday!!!! skating.. bowling — this is my lovebug !!! i’d do anything for her

soooo since … 💞♥️💞♥️💞♥️💞♥️💞♥️💞♥️💞TODAY IS SOPHIES 10th birthday!!!!… i called our fav restaurant not expecting much i know how crazy it is and i don’t ask for special treatment.

well the WOK IN FALLON has been me and Sophies place since the month we moved here. always that’s been our go to. imagine my sheer delight when ELLEN the owner said she would do anything we needed. ( i mean within reason) AND THEY DID! they disinfected everything and made an area all the way in the back for us also .. the foods always been amazing but today?—- oh. my. goodness from the japanese nachos to every single bite of sushi. i know ed loved his lemon chicken too! they spoiled us all i haven’t had customer service like this is eons!!!!! the food was outta this world delicious !!! i will ALWAYS go back to ellen and her staff at the WOK ! really… i was so nervous .. just for being outside in public then INTO a building with no open windows… i was trying to not totally meltdown .. especially inside the restaurant. oh geez. i hate anxiety. but it was for sophie .. so o was determined and i prayed !!!! and after talking with ellen she made me feel —— like we mattered !!!! she cares! she didn’t want me getting sicker and wanted sophie to have an awesome 10 th birthday. which is exactly what i wanted !!!!!!! and sure enough— Ellen made it happen. i literally cannot say enough good about this restaurant.. the quality and flavor of the food and her willingness to go out of her way to make this day special. i am such a happy momma. i’m so so happy. and again- oh gosh the food was phenomenal. really. way better than lots of places in reno!! i know i have completed a major victory in this battle trying to keep me inside my home and trapped in my broken body forever .. but i refuse in JESUS name! this was wasn’t about me AT ALL yet i am so so thrilled !!! to see sophie gobble uo the sushi —- oh gosh and the fresh ginger was delish!!!!! it’s always so tart at other restaurants. i love ginger for my nausea. she even gave me some to take home! and sophie is thrilled and loved every single bite ! anyway 10 out of 10 for the WOK!!! and our sweet precious 10 year old birthday girl loves it which is what really mattered the most!!!!! making memories. what a difference caring and kindness and compassion make....

A Flavorful Journey with Boba Bliss and Sushi Delights, Marred by Hygiene Mishap.

Nestled in the heart of Fallon, Nevada, The Wok offers a delightful dining experience with its delicious Asian cuisine. With a blend of neutrality and quirkiness, let's dive into the key aspects that make this place stand out.

First and foremost, The Wok boasts an impressive boba selection. Whether you're a traditionalist who enjoys classic milk tea or an adventurous soul seeking unique flavor combinations, this place has you covered. Sipping on their whimsical boba creations adds an extra layer of fun to your dining experience.

Now, when it comes to the servers, it's a bit of a mixed bag. While some exude charm, making your visit more enjoyable with their personable and attentive nature, others may fall short in these areas. This unpredictable element adds a certain whimsy to your meal, but consistent service would certainly enhance the overall experience. I’m writing this review after my 4th time visiting this place.

Moving on to the star of the show—the sushi. The Wok's sushi selection is a definite highlight. Each roll bursts with exquisite flavors, showcasing the artistry of the chefs. With fresh ingredients and an eye for flavor combinations, their sushi will tantalize your taste buds and leave you craving more.

The cozy atmosphere at The Wok creates a welcoming environment. It's the perfect setting for a gathering with friends or a cozy dinner with loved ones. The warm decor and comfortable ambiance contribute to an overall pleasant dining experience.

Unfortunately, my visit was marred by an incident that left me utterly disgusted. I witnessed an Asian male server using his bare hands to scoop noodles that were hanging off a plate back onto the dish and then casually wiping them off on the checkout counter . This lack of basic hygiene was deeply unsettling, especially considering the potential consequences for diners. Despite making eye contact, the server seemed unfazed, which further compounded my disappointment. Honestly, I’ve also had this server once before and his personality matches his views on hygienic practices - indifferent.

In conclusion, The Wok in Fallon, Nevada, presents a mixed bag of experiences. While the boba selection adds a touch of whimsy and the sushi delights with its flavors, the servers' level of personability and attentiveness can be inconsistent. The cozy atmosphere creates an inviting setting, but the unfortunate encounter with unhygienic practices casts a shadow over an otherwise enjoyable dining experience and I can’t say the food and drinks make up for that incident. I honestly feel hesitant even coming back. Eat at...
