The food was bland in spite of being run by real Hispanic people. The portions are large but not that exciting to eat. The salsa was runny and not hot. They make an interesting cabbage salsa but again lacking a spicyness. I sampled a fish taco (grilled), an adobado taco, and a chili verde taco. The fish taco was the best of the three considering it had to be frozen fish this far from the ocean. The chili verde was made with pork and tomatillo salsa but was not braised for enough time to get tender. The pork was chewy and the salsa had become rather dry and gummy. The adobado taco was made with a dry red rub on beef chunks. Again, the meat needed to be braised longer and the adobo was flavorless. My wife ordered a cheese enchilada which came loaded with onions and no other vegetables. The raw onion overwhelmed the entire dish. The pluses come from very good attentive servers and the beans. We had the cholesterol free beans which are Frijoles de la olla with pico de gallo as opposed to refried in which case they fry the beans in lard. I'm reluctant to give such a harsh review to nice folks that are working hard but the food is sub-par and I felt it was expensive for...
Read moreBetter for lunch than for dinner. Twice now I have gone here for dinner and been disappointed. It seems like when they get busy their quality of food and service takes a huge hit. When I have gone in for a late lunch and they are not as busy, the service and the food have been exceptional. The last time was with some company and we had to wait 1hr for seating, 25min to place a soft drink order and 35min to receive drinks get ignored for our food order while someone else that had been waiting less time got both their drink and food order placed. Then our order came out wrong, our refills got placed in the wrong persons cups (diet pepsi mixed with someone's tea was not nice), and we had to go line by line on the bill to find how we got charged for someone's bar tab. The whole time the waitress was very rude and short with us. Worst experience I have had here and now I will not...
Read moreWhen we first arrived in Fallon this is the restaurant we ate at. Since we were not yet familiar with the town to our surprise we had to go through the kitchen to get to a table since there was no handicap access. My husband has MS and is in a wheelchair. I hate to say it but it was not pleasant. I will say the kitchen staff did their best to assist us. The food was okay (just so so). After a little more than a year living here, I decided I wanted carnitas so searched my apps to find a place that served carnitas and chose this place not knowing it was the eatery from a year ago (got this order to go before realizing this.) Well the carnitas were so amazing, will get them again in the future. Hopefully someday a handicap access will magically appear so we can enjoy eating at this place, until then to go orders will be the mode of the day for those...
