baddpizza — Restaurant in Falls Church

This review hurts to write. They got our pizza wrong. The wings took so long after the pizzas that we had to wait about 10-15 minutes and the pizza ended up being cold by the time we got home. We have no problem reheating. They are cooking some weird boneless breaded things (not a buffalo thing) that cross contaminated my wings with gluten so instead of enjoying my reward of wings I am experiencing a gluten attack because I have Celiac's. I explained to them that I had Celiac's while I was there and they did not express any concern about cross contamination. My advice is drop the chicken poppers and only use your oil for Buffalo wings like God intended. This won't deter me from going back, as the staff is great and they do have a gluten free pizza that I want to try, but again, I don't know if they are taking the precautions to prevent cross contamination. I enjoyed a go bills with the owner but now I am puking up until the start of the game because they cook chicken nuggets along with their wings, therefore cross contaminating the wings with gluten. All around it was a tough visit but still 2 stars because the owner/manager did his best to make it right for the pizza that was made wrong, but we live an hour from this place so there was no salvaging the night. When it costs a 100 bucks for 2 pizzas and 40 wings you would hope they get it right. I feel terrible for writing the review because I love these guys but they just missed the mark big time. Next time, I'm sure will be better.

UPDATE: After reviewing their website I realized they do have an allergen section that does state they cannot guarantee gluten free food. I will miss them, as with Celiac's I will have to go with places that do go the extra mile like MOD pizza (seperate oven and other precautions) to make it so someone with Celiac's can still...

Edit. Since opening and my original posts, their quality has definitely slipped on both wings and pizza. Not sure what happened, but I now rarely eat there. Maybe they tried expanding too fast.

I'll update this again if I happen to notice any improvement, but not holding my breath now that they have a regular customer base in a high traffic area. No need to improve around here because of that, but in Buffalo they wouldn't last too much longer at this rate. Have been here a few times in the past couple of months, and so far so good. I am a Buffalo native, and still visit quiet often.

It seems a little more expensive than what you would expect, but the portions are large.

Wings are meaty, and are about as close as you can get to Buffalo style around the area. The hot sauce is not very hot, but acceptable with the heat building wing after wing. Even with a few miles drive back home, they retain some of their crunch. Very satisfying.

The pizza is pretty typical of Buffalo style, and a good taste of home. It is a little spicier than my favorite haunts in Buffalo, but still very acceptable.

Keep it up guys. Glad to have some good options...
