Avoid this place like the plague. If you're reading this review, notice how other reviews from Vietnamese individuals apart from mine are all 1-star. Heed our advice and RUN FAR AWAY.
We dropped by here on our road trip down south from NYC. This is not the first time we've stopped by this establishment as this is located within a huge Vietnamese commercial center and as such, this is also not the first time we've been a victim of their unpleasant behavior. However, we decided to give them a 2nd chance and stopped in to grab some items to-go.
We stacked in our non-existent basket about 13 items priced between $2-$10, totaling up to about $65. We got everything from bánh bèo, bánh cuốn, bánh bò, gỏi, bánh dày, etc. Unfortunately, none of the food was up to par and was in fact, terrible. However, what stood out the most was the unsettling feeling that as paying customers GIVING them our business, we were treated with constant SUSPICION when we were temporarily stacking multiple items to the side (since there was absolutely nowhere else to put them that's not on the counter while we finished our shopping without obstructing others who were already ready to pay at their tiny counter). Now while paying, my family members (who were standing aside to make way for other customers lining up behind us) were consistently given the side-eye as if we were potential shoplifters. It's laughable and absurd how customers are treated here and it's evident through these other reviews that we're not the only ones who feel this way.
With that said, we will not be returning to this establishment nor do we recommend anyone else to...
Read moreThis place gets -10 stars for their horrendous customer service that my mother and I received today.
My mom originally wanted to go to a different Banh Mi place but we couldn't find it. So we ended up at this place. We bought banh mi and a bunch of other small things since we were on a road trip. When I was waiting for the banh mis to be made, I looked around and there was a lady filling the cream inside the pastry towards the back of the store. I noticed she was looking at me, but whatever. I do have a darker complexion for Vietnamese.
After we checked out, I took 9 spoons. We bought $47 worth of stuff, and that was the exact amount we needed to use for every little items we bought. Oh and 2 straws for the coffees to be exact. I didn't take any napkins, even though we could use some.
The lady came out of no where and told me that I am being rude by taking too many spoons, that I am taking all the utensils and that I am not being considerate towards others by taking all the spoons. This is 9 spoons out of a stack of 50+.
You know what, talking back at her would just prove her right, that I have no manners and in turn embarass my mother. I'm not going to let her ruin our Mother's day trip. So I put her precious spoons back, waited for the banh mi, and we left the store.
I understand in the restaurant industry you have to deal with demanding customers and everyone has their bad days. But I didn't even talk to this lady. And I bought so much stuff from this store and I can't get some spoons that cost less than $1?
We will never ever come back here. And I will make sure to tell our friends and family how I...
Read moreI always loved Huong Binh until lately since they start cutting their banh mi as if they are hot dogs. It's more difficult to eat and it is not right. I'd rather eat a hot dog and my soul food- Banh Mi at Huong Binh now.
I requested to have my banh mi cut as other regular banh mi, on the side today and the lady at the cashier made it sound like I am the weirdo who request the most weirdiest thing ever. She complaint it is such an annoyance cutting the bagguette on the sides normally because it slows them down. And I am the only one complain about it (which I didnt, I just requested to have mine cut on the side). She even yelled at her coworkers and shut them down saying "whatever side it is cut, there are still 3 slices of meat and 4 slices of pork ham" because they aggreed with me on the side cutting banh mi.
Huong Binh owner, I dont know if you are aware of the hot dog's style banh mi. I am disappointed that you guys are turninv banh mi into something else. Other customers won't say but I don't think they...
