We were in the area shopping and decided to stop in for a meal due to the ratings on this restaurant. There was music playing which was a nice surprise. The reason for this rating is due to the behavior of the door man. He came to our table three times during the end of our visit asking for $20 for a cover charge. On the first stop to our table, we told him we were just finishing our meal, didn’t have cash and that we were about to head out. At this time, the band was setting up their equipment. The second time he came over, the band started playing and we were waiting on our bill. The service was incredibly slow and it took awhile to get the check however, we did not mind because the waitress was sweet and very busy. On the third visit to our table the doorman just stood there and wouldn’t leave and just stared at us after he made smug expressions demanding $20, watching us sign the receipt. After paying $100+ for a meal and a couple drinks, we were utterly disgusted in his behavior. It is unbecoming to interrupt patrons THREE times demanding money while they are trying to pack up and leave. If people are already in the establishment and a band starts, let them finish eating and leave. I have been to many restaurants with live music and I have never be harassed and treated so poorly over a cover charge. Unfortunately, due to this frustrating experience, we will not be returning. Also, drink prices are not on the menu. We paid $9 for house wine in a plastic glass and $7 for blue moon which seemed steep...
Read moreI don't like to leave bad reviews but this time I have no choice because I felt offended by my waitress, she ignored me several times, got my order wrong and gave me attitude on top of that when it was her mistake, I had to go to get her at the bar to get my bill; again she ignored me. I was patient and waited then when she finally looked at me I waived at her to ask for my check and she yelled at me saying "I am busy" even the guys at the bar commented that she was very rude and that she could have used other choice of words instead. I didn't say anything to her just watched her and I guess she noticed the way the guys looked at her so she just said "sorry" and gave me my check. I have been there a few times for the Blues jam on Sundays and even a Tuesday night and the other servers were nicer than her so I can't generalized on the service. I go there because the music and organizers are really nice and inviting so you don't want to miss any day for the Blues jam, food is ok nothing outstanding except for the coconut pie so far! I haven't try everything on the menu yet so I can comment farther about the food another time but so far this is my personal opinion. I try to get friends and family with me but I am afraid I will get this kind of service again, the friend I took was very upset about this issue and said he would no go back but I will give it another try since I love...
Read moreI ate recently by chance, had to come in because it has my initials! I'm glad I did. Came here on a Tuesday or Wednesday night, which happens to be open mic night. Had live entertainment with my meal. They had a number of daily specials. I chose a ribeye steak for about $32. It was fantastic. It was huge and delicious, came with baked potato. I would put this steak against any steak form a fancy steakhouse. It was superb, and for $32 also a great deal. I have been to many fine dining restaurants and expensive steakhouses across the US, and I'm telling you that was one of THE BEST steaks I have ever had, and in that price range it is impressive. The food here is solid. They have music 7 nights a week. My only constructive criticism is the drink prices a re a little high. I had a beer and it was $8 or 9. No beers on tap. This place has been around since 1947. A real landmark. If I was going to recommend only 1 place in Falls Church Virginia, which has many good restaurants to choose from, this would be THE PLACE. My number one recommendation in the...
