Best Bait and Switch I’ve ever seen. TL;DR: DO NOT TRUST THE ONLINE RESERVATION FOR HONEYBAKED STORE #8503. They will cheat you, even if you call. I was excited about having a Honeybaked ham for Thanksgiving, especially this year- the first turkey day without my Uncle, who looked forward to it every Thanksgiving and passed in September. So, thinking ahead to make sure I got what I needed, I reserved a quarter ham via their website on Sunday. I didn’t get an e-mail in response, so I called the store on Tuesday night to confirm that my order had been received. The woman that answered the phone immediately began trying to up-sell me, asking about how many people we had, what sides we’d be having, all of what you’d expect from a box store at the holidays- okay, no harm, no foul there, but I was a bit pressed for time, so I finally said “Ma’am, I’m just trying to make sure I’m on the list for my quarter ham tomorrow.” I was told that the list printed every morning, and if I’d registered online, she was sure my name would be on it and everything would be fine, but I really ought to think about increasing my order if there were more than a couple of adults, because that quarter ham didn’t feed but two people. I thanked her for her time and hung up. Wednesday arrived, and I left work early to make sure I got there in time. The place was already packed with a line out the door, but I told myself that I’d reserved ahead and called, and that doing my part would pay off. As I got closer to the door, I noticed armed security moving back and forth between the counter and the door. That struck me as really odd, given that it was 1145AM on a Wednesday in Falls Church, but you never could be too cautious. As I progressed through the line, I noticed that the guard was spending more and more time up front, and less controlling the crowd. Strange, but again, can’t be too careful, and I called ahead, so it was fine, right? I got to the counter, said “Hello, I’m Kirk, and I registered online Sunday for a quarter ham that I’m here to pick up.” The woman working the register barely looked up and said “We ain’t got no quarters. You want a half?” No, I wanted what I reserved. I tried again. “No, I called last night to make sure that-“ “We. Ain’t. Got. No. Quarters. You want a half or not?” I looked over my shoulder, and the security guard was watching this play out, and I realized why they were spending so much time up front. Now, I’m not just arguing with a person running a register, but an armed guard, as well. That, plus the time investment of waiting in line for 35 minutes, plus having other shopping and errands ahead of me left me with really no choice…so I nodded, and a half ham was tossed on the counter in front of me, then unwrapped (though in retrospect, if they’re willing to bait and switch like they did, I’m relieved to make sure it was actually ham under the wrapper!) I’ll never shop here again. instead of the online quote of $35-50, I walked out of there with $67 in ham I neither needed nor asked for. Needless to say, I’ll be calling corporate. UPDATED Review: they e-mailed me saying they had quarter hams in the store at the time I was cheated and offered a $100 gift card to compensate me for it. I asked for a refund of $67.45 instead, which they provided. Don't trust this location!

Great service. Store was clean and the cashier was quickly able to find our prepaid order and give it to us. Store was empty and had COVID protocols in place which made it feel very safe. My only issue was upon opening the turkey it looked like a very small portion. I weighed it and was correct, even with the plate and wrap it was only 7oz, quite a bit less than the package itself stated. The ham was the correct amount (we got both). I’m not sure what happened here. I might be more concerned if I were ordering a larger ham that I wasn’t getting what I paid for, but obviously with this small amount I’m not too concerned. The turkey, ham, Mac and cheese, sweet potatoes, and rolls were all delicious. At 24.99 it was an affordable family meal that everyone enjoyed. I would definitely return.

Operation Tandem Turkey was a success this year! The Honey Baked Ham Company achieved perfection with the Sweet & Savory Smoked Turkey Breasts. Everything went smoothly, I skipped the line by pre-ordering and paying online for in-store pickup. I arrived the day before Thanksgiving at 10:30am and parking was available. I had my QR code ready to be scanned when I walked in. They were well staffed, friendly, and efficient. I was in and out in less than five minutes. The total for two turkey breasts was $90.00. There was a reasonable line for walk-in orders but they had plenty of Hams, Turkeys, and sides in stock. A huge thank you and shout out to the staff working hard to provide exceptional quality and service to everyone! Happy Thanksgiving!!!

As a standard business model- it is the understanding if you order online ahead of time, the order will be prepared that morning and you either have a pick up time or will be notified to pick up your order. It was my experience this morning that this location of honey baked ham does not run that way. I placed an order 3 days prior and arrived to to store to be told it’s first come first serve and ordering ahead does not hold any items. Multiple customers in the store at the time we’re having the same shocked reaction. Why place an order ahead of time than? And if this is the case why not make that transparent to your customers.

If that wasn’t bad enough- the company made it clear they taking this unprecedented time during the pandemic seriously and had a security guard at the door making sure social distancing was occurring. However the manager was wearing a mask only over the bottom half of her mouth. I informed her, that I am a health care professional, I need to let her know that not covering her nose as well as her mouth is not protecting her or her customers (you would think as the manager of the store she would like to set the correct example). I was told that she needs to breath so she’ll wear her mask however. The manager continued to be rude, and walked away refusing to talk to me or give me her name.

I am a nurse, and as of three days ago(when I placed this order) I was told on my next shift, Sunday-Easter- I was being called to be an ICU nurse in the COVID unit. This dinner will be my last dinner with my family until the pandemic is over. It would be upsetting under any circumstance but this makes this worse.

Pandemic or not treating your customers in such a poor manor is unacceptable. This location will never get my business again. I will be talking to corporate.

EDIT: After writing about my In-store experience on the store website the General manger of the store contacted me very quickly. The women who had identified herself as the manager during my visit was not the manager. The general manager was very kind and handled the situation very well. Her kind approach to this matter will be why I’d go back...

This place sucks. The front girl was incompetent. I asked for sliders. She asked if I would like cheddar or swiss. She goes- well, I can only push the sliders with swiss, but I can substitute it, but I can't push the button. Okay, do whatever you need to do. She made it all complicated and all she had to do is select the button. Apparently it only comes with swiss.....then DON'T offer cheddar at all, cuz the guy who made it came out and acted like a d saying- we only make these with swiss, thats why it's called swiss sliders. Are you freaking kidding me?! What a pompous and arrogant thing to say to a new customer. Rude AH.

They didn't have anything I asked for. No Mac and Cheese sides, no sweet tea, no hot sides at all. Very disappointed. Don't have a menu with items and not make the food for it. She asked the guy in the back if he made it. He said no.

Why run a business like this? Super disappointed in the service and lack of options. You lost a customer, corporate, due to this location's lack of everything plus the front girl had an attitude and acted like she didn't even want to be there. The guy who came out was so rude and arrogant. Napoleon complex.

Sucks. Will not recommend. Your staff acts like they hate being there. Will...
