We went to Hooked for lunch. First the good: The restaurant is beautiful, tables nicely spaced, lots of light; service was excellent. We were given a bowl of what looked like home made chips which were a treat. I ordered the Cajun tuna burger with coleslaw which was delicious. It was a large piece of tuna which surprised me. Now for the not so good: My husband ordered the cod sandwich with sweet potato fries. There was one very small piece of cod in a small bun with a slice of tomato and a leaf of lettuce. No sauce of any kind. The fried cod sandwich is his "go to" for lunch and he has had much larger and better portions for much less the price at other restaurants in town. And unfortunately the sweet potato fries were burnt. The other interesting point was that the cod sandwich was more expensive than the tuna. Maybe the sweet potato fries were an add-on which we didn't know. We understand the restaurant is new and that it takes time to get going. Knowing this, we...
Read moreMy husband and I finally got in to try the new place tonight and I cannot say enough good things about Hooked. The food was amazing! We decided to do a few rounds of apps instead of entrees and ended up trying the steamers, peel and eat shrimp, house salad, and octopus. All of the seafood was cooked PERFECTLY! The steamers were super clean and delicious. Both the house salad and the shrimp felt like a fantastic value given their size and the quality. More than anything we LOVED the octopus. 10/10 from octopus lovers! It was delightfully salty from capers and perfectly dressed, served warm over a bed of arugula. I would go back just for that dish alone.
The service was also fantastic. We both work in the service industry and had a lovely time with David our server. The host and food runners were also so professional. We honestly could not have had a better time. Thank you all for a...
Read moreInterior is just beautiful but the food was a huge let down. We went for lunch and my BLT was soggy with a big hole in the bread so it couldn’t be picked up. It was the worst I ever had. And it cost $18.50. My friend had a Chicken Cesar Wrap and it was so dry it was impossible to eat. The waitress brought over some Cesar dressing hoping that would help but it didn’t put a dent in the dryness. Sweet potato fries were limp. We wanted to be HOOKED but instead we were so disappointed. We will give it another try soon to see if things improve because the restaurant itself has a great vibe so job well done to the designers/owners…..awesome atmosphere and great lighting! Just give me a sandwich as good as the atmosphere and I’ll be...
