This is a really cool spot. I love the location and how it is so much brighter than the old BBC. We are local and like going here. Recently, we have brought 6-8 people with us on numerous occasions and have not enjoyed the way we have been treated. The hostess seems put out by our group size and annoyed that we are there at all. One time we even offered to split our group, so the ones that were there, could sit and the others would wait for the remainder of the group. We sat at bar waiting for rest of group. When they got there, they said we were all there and were told that they needed everyone right there before they would seat us. She was told we were all there but we were just paying our bar tab before sitting down. She said they would not seat us until everyone was right in front of her. This seems to be a bit of ridiculous situation, but whatever. While we were sitting in back, a table of 10 was being set up. It remained empty until just before we were done eating, so apparently, the rule is only applicable to certain people (reservations not accepted by the way). Went back again this past weekend and had 8 people. Same issue with waiting for our group. Not upset about the rule, just felt we were a burden to the hostess and the server.
We are ordering full orders and drinks, so the tabs are plenty high enough. Just don't understand whey they are so rude...
Read moreI was in town for the Falmouth Road Race. On Saturday my grandmother and I went for brunch, which the website says is from 7:30-10:30am. We arrived about 7:40am. The front door was locked even though the restaurant was supposed to be open. A parking attendant said the door should be open. We knocked and a staff member that was inside saw us but didn't do anything. We waited outside for 5 mins thinking they might be running late opening the restaurant. When we started to walk away, a worker came and opened the door and closed it again but didn't say anything to us. I walked back up the ramp and the door was still locked. Not sure if the worker didn’t realize the door didn't unlock properly but either way, that was awful customer service. Between not being open the time you say you are open and the behavior of the staff not even acknowledging us, we decided not to eat there after that because we didn't want to support a business that treats customers like that. I was disappointed because we were really looking forward to trying out the restaurant. We haven’t eaten there since it changed from “BBC” to “Shipwrecked” and were looking forward to trying the new menu and enjoying the vibe of the restaurant. It does look like the new owners did a good job because of the outdoor seating etc but like I said, not gonna eat somewhere with...
Read moreAfter paying $30 to park we had to wait 2 hours for a table, which while inconvenient wasn’t an issue for us we happily got a couple drinks on the patio while we waited. We were finally seated at 9:30 inside, the table was directly in front of the live musician who had already started playing, it was impossible to have a conversation at the table without shouting. All that aside we placed our orders and about that time the outside bar closed, the crowd made their way in the be next to the music. We ate our appetizer while being bumped into and jostled by other patrons surrounding our table to enjoy the music. We requested a new table and were denied, meanwhile the table adjacent to us was moved to a new location upon their request. Unable to take the terrible environment around us any longer we paid for our appetizer and left. We expressed our disappointment to the manager, who let us know that it was a busy Saturday and there was nothing she could do for us.
It’s a shame that the environment and the management that night was so poor, as our appetizer was quite good. However I would never endure such an experience for any food. We were only in Cape Cod for a night and after the night we spent at Shipwrecked, I’m not inclined to come back to the...
