At first I thought this hotel was a little too good to be true. A hotel in New England, reasonably priced (with booking only about a week or two in advance), dog friendly, and with a beachside view? But this hotel was everything it said it was and perfect for a quick stay in New England in my opinion. There is a private beach that the hotel and its guests have access to, with rooms facing either the beachfront or a balcony view over the beach. The location is a bit of a drive from the downtown center, but that is ok as the views from the hotel surely make up for it. The rooms are phenomenal and even (at least in my room) had a record player. The rooms were clean, the wifi was fast, the bathrooms, albeit a bit small, were clean and well stocked. I don't believe they serve breakfast here but there are plenty of cafes nearby that serve good food, like in downtown Falmouth or nearby Woods Hole. The staff were nice here as well and they have a small merchandise section in the lobby. Overall, if I am ever near Falmouth again this is my go to spot.

Arrival was smooth, the staff was super friendly. The room came equipped with a fridge, microwave, and record player all of which worked very well! The room was air conditioned, and the views were amazing. The hotel is also very well located. The only issue was the cleanliness, it seemed as though no one sweeped the corners or sides of things (There were quite a few dead bugs). and there were stains on the sheets of both beds. One bed had greenish, brown stain on the inner. The other had a reddish stain on the top cover. Perhaps because of the white sheets stains are always harder to remove. But the amount of stains was something I've never experienced before. Because of that; 4 stars. Also the bathroom is tiny, no room to put anything on the counters or in the shower really...Not a big deal to me, but may be to some. The last couple of things- the walls are very thin, and smells leak through the doors and windows-the air smelled of weed frequently.

I know this is high season summer on the Cape. But geez $800 a night . We paid for early check in , only to discover there are no chairs on the beach. The front desk response is “first come first serve”. My response was please find me chairs. Yes, we were accommodated. The rooms are updated motel, they are clean and bright. The bathrooms are tiny, complete with extremely thin towels and tiny bars of soap to match the tiny bathroom. The T.V. was not working. With a trip to the office a bright star named Morta tried to assist us…she really tried with no luck. There are no drinking glasses in the room. There is a food truck for coffee and pastries. No restaurant, bars or convenience store within walking distance. We had a 3 night reservation, we left after the first. We were not charged for the other 2 nights. I know that this property is proud of their location, however you are paying a lot of money for very little Pictured are our homemade wineglasses

What's not to love? The room is extremely clean, high quality bedding, wine refrigerator, coffee and other amenities. Situated between harbors, beautiful panoramic views and great fishing, swimming, beachcombing from your room. Owner was a real classy guy and the front desk was ready to make your visit unforgettable. Short walk to anywhere but I can't imagine why you would leave. Great record player available with Bob Marley, Elvis, Beach Boys and other classics! Excellent outdoor seating and even a dock! Room actually shook when rooms near by closed/slammed door shut. Bathroom shower was fine but no shelves in bathroom so no place to put toothpaste, mouthwash, and cups. Our refrigerator often had much condensation on front glass which leaked on floor so we used a bath towel to help soak up the water. Beatiful view. Balcony was great. Relaxing sounds of waves. *ROOMS ARE NOT AS THEY ADVERTISE ONLINE!

We normally don't go spending this amount of money for one night at a hotel, but since it was our anniversary we've decided that for the ocean view that Tides hotel provides, it was going to be worth it. Based on the pictures, we booked an "Oceanview" room (the two options were Oceanview and Harborview). When we arrived at the room and pulled open the curtains, we were given a view where it was 70% parking lot, 20% harbor, and if you stand at the corner you can kind of see the ocean. Not only that, the balcony was a shared balcony with the room next door, and if you stood in the parking lot and looked up, you would've been able to clearly see all the way into the room! So for privacy reasons we had to have the shades closed, so we weren't even able to enjoy our limited view. Clearly this was a mistake, but after speaking with the front desk and this being Labor Day weekend, there were no other options except if we paid even more for another room. We explained that we simply want what was shown on the website, because those pictures were misleading. She apologized and said that in the morning the manager would be able to assist us in alleviating some of our concerns. The next morning, the manager was being completely dismissive, say that since it showed the ocean technically if you stood in the corner that there was nothing that he could do, and that for future reference if we want an Ocean view, we look for options that say that it is Oceanfront. We again reiterated that we simply booked based on the pictures shown on the website, and that according to the night receptionist this was a recurring issue that previous tenants had experienced, but his reply was that people complain about things all the time and that again there was nothing that he was willing to do. All in all, we were disappointed that we didn't get what we paid for, and that the hotel wasn't willing to acknowledge the misleading information shown...

If hygiene matters to you, don’t book! And be ready to pay extra $150 for room service! Day 1: checked in the room, medication pills were on the floor. They were found by my 3 years old. Very strong mold smell. No air conditioning Screen door doesn’t lock. So on a hot day, it’s hell. The curtains had so much dust in them that we preferred sleeping in daylight rather than moving them. Day 2: a car parked in the parking lot at 2 pm, blasting loud music, we called reception, they were not there. My kids, (3yo and 6 mo) were very disturbed. My husband had to call the police. Day3: we had no room service. The garbage was sitting the whole day while we were away, the towels were wet when we came back after a long day in the vineyards. When we mentioned it to the reception, they said it was upon request. No one ever mentioned that, even on the website it says « daily room service ». I said to my husband It’s 8pm and it’s the last night. Why bother someone to come clean the room at this hour. But « no good deed goes unpunished ». On the third day, we checked out, out of courtesy my husband always puts towels back in the bathroom sink. And tries to tidy up around. There was cookie crumbs on the bed, he pushed on the carpet to be vacuumed. Apparently this was a crime because the hotel absurdly charged our credit card an extra $150 dollars, without even notifying us. When we called to inquire what we thought was a misunderstanding, they were extremely rude and agressive. Calling us dirty. « There was dirt all over the place ». Referring to chocolate cookie crumbs. And when we objected, they said « well go dispute it which your credit card company. » When we brought it up to hotels.com they said there was nothing we can do about it. And even the review I posted there was never posted. Only 9/10 reviews get posted apparently!...
