We were going on vacation and booked a bottom fishing trip for the end of July. Booking process was easy. We had a little bit of an issue finding the correct parking lot, but eventually found it. The morning of the trip the boat, Captain and deckhand were ready and prompt. I grabbed open reel rods because my family was familiar with them & we had never used bait casters (they have both)
We happened to get a spot right next to the wheel house. On the way out I asked Captain Nick how the fishings been and his response was "Ok, dog days of summer." I was a bit nervous we may get skunked. Boy was I wrong. When we got to his drift spot, he cut the engines, we dropped in and my son & I both had fish on the first cast. When he saw the catching slowing down and confirmed on his fish finder, he moved to re-drift over it again. On all but the last drift we caught fish, and the last was during the most water movement for tide. All on all between my son, my wife (played photographer most of the day) and myself we easily caught 20+ fish. We had a blast, the people around us had a blast, and the captain and deckhand we extremely friendly, patient, and helpful with everyone. Highly recommended. You won't find a better value!
Couple tips: They sell some water, beverages, and snacks on board. You do not need to bring anything, but can bring a cooler if you want.
Out of towners - have a plan in place for how you're going to cook your fish if you're going to keep any. If you don't, please release the fish back to the water. The Captain and deckhand knew of a restaurant that would cook your catch, but they no...

I recently went on a boat fishing trip and it was an absolutely wonderful experience! From the moment I stepped on board, I could tell that it was going to be a memorable day.
One of the highlights of the trip was the exceptional service provided by Alex, our guide and crew member. Alex was incredibly helpful throughout the entire journey. They were knowledgeable about the best fishing spots in the area and provided us with valuable tips and techniques to enhance our fishing skills.
Not only did Alex assist us with setting up our fishing gear, but they also patiently answered all of our questions and offered guidance whenever needed. Their expertise and enthusiasm for fishing were truly contagious, making the trip even more enjoyable.
The boat itself was well-maintained and equipped with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable fishing experience. The captain ensured that we had a smooth ride and took us to some fantastic fishing spots where we had great success in catching various types of fish.
The breathtaking views of the open water and the surrounding landscape added to the overall charm of the trip. It was a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, allowing me to relax and connect with nature.
In conclusion, my boat fishing trip was nothing short of amazing, thanks in large part to Alex's exceptional assistance. We noticed All the gear wasn't weighted enough to get down to fish. No steel or leadcore line. We began our 1.5hr ride or to the Captain's spot. This is a 5hr sport fishing trip with 3hrs of just riding a boat. Everyone on board was watching the weather as it was supposed to rain a little. We all know Rain doesn't stop fishing though. So we tried to beat the storm and head out around the point of the Vineyard. We past by a few small flocks of birds diving on the water (which usually means fish). When we got the Captain's we dropped a couple lines in the water and just started making circles. It was raining but nothing too bad. As the boat kept making the same circle, I watched the fish finder and we never marked a fish. Yet we strayed in the same spot for close to 45 minutes. This is when everyone noticed it was starting to lightning a lil. We then changed location. Same exact thing nothing on the monitor and just making circles. This time the mate warned the Captain about more lightning. But someone got a bite and he stayed. Which was good for one little kid as he caught a decent bluefish. They had one more spot to hit. So we went to the rip at the point(I've bottom fished here before.) and just slowly trolled down the middle of the shallow water. With again, no luck. Which is what this guy would need to catch any...
