At this moment I m thoroughly enjoy enjoying eating my coleslaw with my fingers. It was only 245 for maybe 3 ounces. I asked for ketchup or hot sauce for my order. I was told it's only in bottle on site. So I guess you have to sit there and get wasted before you get in your car and get on the roads in Fargo which is quite spread out if you want ketchup or hot sauce. My food was slightly over moderately priced for its quality. I ate it I'm not starving . But I wish I went somewhere else 100% . I referred people to this place for years. What a mistake. I had no idea it would turn into such a disappointment . If I would've known they would've turned into a garbage just drink and get in your car and drive till you kill someone place... when you can't get someone ketchup or hot sauce unless you sit there where the bar taps are... that's what it says. So if anyone ever has somebody killed from someone leaving this restaurant because they're wasted, maybe that's their priority just getting you drunk. Slum. So some customers get condiments some dont. Some people get silverware some don't. We have lots of choices in this city to eat and drink. As well as in Bismarck and everywhere else this place resides. Please do not go here. If I wasn't so hungry I wouldn't have eaten the food. I'm kind of terrified I'm gonna get sick from the character of their service and delivery of their food. You sell coleslaw, give me something to eat it with. You give people in their drinking beer and sitting at tables condiments let me have condiments. What a vile business in this nice downtown area. I get that someone could forget the fork that's OK. Don't give people who sit there drinking silverware and ketchup and hot sauce better treatment. I travel the world and I've never respected many cities as much as I respected Fargo but more and more places are coming up like this one JL beers. Get this business out of your city stop promoting them. This is America's kind of like an OK thing. And hot sauce maybe it's too ethnic for the beers maybe that says something about them. No hot sauce unless you want to sit here where you can buy beer. Just open a liquor store JL. I predicted 10 out of 10 places would close in the last five years they all closed. I can't wait for this one to close. This business is an insult to my community here, my family here, and just dignity of people. Knock it off. Don't make people eat with their hands. If you can't afford to give someone a condiment, you probably can't afford cleaning stuff for your kitchen to make it health safe. I don't know what business JL should be in but it's not...
Read moreSo we were in ND for work up by Cavalier and grand forks. We stopped in Fargo to spend the night before heading back to Minneapolis Minnesota. Stopped in JL beers. Our waitress was joseclyn. She was very accommodating and had a great demeanor and easy on the eyes ladies and gents. Dont take it from me Stop in, seeing is believing. The boss and I ordered some excellent craft beers. Enjoying some local banter with some locals and JL employees, Ross and Thor with his golden locks. Boss lady comes over and was doing her thing and accidentally spilled a full beer, on Ross, I and my.phone. they offered to buy me a new phone. I declined. But the offer was appreciated. Material things dont matter The food and beer were superb and the social interaction was excellent. SO, Caitlin, you.owe me the pleasure of your company. The next time I'm in the fargo area. That is if you are not shy. That's how you can make it up too me like you promised. But seriously thank you JL Beers staff for the fun I'm 1200 miles from my home. Sleeping in hotels traveling for work and I felt at home in there. Be proud of what JL beers has created. So Joseclyn. Caitlin, Ross the pool shark at sidelines and thor thanks for the fun. I'll remember this day for a while. Even though my pants were soaked!!! Lol. But thanks for the memories. Fries with beer...
Read moreOn my weekdays off, you can usually find me here for lunch. Burgers and beer cheese dip are a must. There's a rotating menu for craft beer and the basics like Coors and Bud on tap. They have bottled and canned drinks as well. The buns for the burgers are oh-so-soft. The fries or chips are freshly cut and fried. I personally don't care for the chips (I've ordered them a couple separate occasions) because they aren't as fried as I'd like. I'm impartial to the Humpty Dumpty burger with peanut butter. I haven't had the chicken sandwiches but I've heard and seen on the menu that they switched from a chicken breast to ground chicken patties. I can see the economic reasoning for it, but I believe it's not well-recieved. The employees are top-notch, especially Eric! You can also bring home crowlers for your favorite beer on tap (or 1919 root beer that's also on tap). There is very limited seating, only 3 booths with more seating at the bar and outside on the patio/sidewalk in nice weather. This is a 21+ establishment, but don't get a burger to take home for the kids because they'll never want fast food...
