Nuevo Leon Mex-Mex Restaurant — Restaurant in Farmers Branch

We are new to Farmers Branch and, on a recommendation from a friend, had dinner last night at Nuevo León. It was hands down best Mexican food I’ve had in DFW area. I moved from central Plano where we had a plethora of very good mom & pop Mexican food choices. I also regularly dine at higher $$ places and love creativity of Mi Dua from Scratch. Nuevo León’s food quality tops all. And, the house margaritas go down easy to boot. Top it off with Maggie, a delightful, super attentive and accommodating owner.

Growing up in San Antonio, I judge Mex restaurants by their enchiladas and the chips & salsa. Nuevo León’s cheese enchiladas with Pasilla sauce is outstanding. I requesting a sprinkling of beef fajita and was surprised by the generous amount served. Hard to stop grazing on the chips & 3 different salsas. The verde was my favorite. Boyfriend loved the charred. Boyfriend had skirt steak with chimichurri. The red chimichurri was unique and addicting. The steak perfectly cooked.

If you’re looking for great food at reasonable price in a friendly neighborhood atmosphere, visit Nuevo León. Maggie will warm your heart and make you feel good about supporting her small local business.

If I could give negative stars I would. Maggie the manager at this store is unprofessional.

I had made a purchase on the website (which is filled with bugs) and did not get a confirmation email. We went in person to take care of the charge.

I checked my bank account and had been charged twice. Maggie was adamant it was not her fault and tried to explain banking procedures to me like I was a child.

I called today and she did not want to refund me my purchase and even called me a liar. If she was the least bit competent with her finances she would see a pending transaction on her Wix account that would show the double charge. Yet she cant be bothered to do that.

This would not be an issue if her website actually worked and did not return back error messages. This will be the last time I buy food from this place and anyone who does transactions through her website should...

Nuevo Leon has been a long-time favorite for our family. Over the past few years, we've introduced this restaurant to my extended family... to the point that they've begun requesting to go here for special occasions. It has been some time since we've dined in, as we've become accustomed to using various food delivery apps instead. Today was without a doubt the worst experience we've ever had (still 3 stars because the food is nothing short of amazing). Immediately greeted with hostility and a negative attitude... the air was so incredibly uncomfortable for a solid hour until out of nowhere, everything shifted back to the normal experience. Everyone has bad days and that's completely understandable, but it created enough of a bad experience that I feel my family will not be back...
