My son and I like to nickname the parks and Oran Good is now dubbed 'Anarchy Park'...which isn't necessarily an awful thing. But some of it's amenities will be definite character builders. Here are some highlights after two visits, I drew zones on the map for reference.
Coming out swinging...seated Zip line. Super awesome...right. Right? Everyone found out that a decent shove-start sends you flying at mach speeds so when you hit the stop bumper at the end it sends the rider horizontal. Tell the kids to hang on for dear life. It is WILD.
Lots of ornamental stuff that don't do much. It all looks interactive but aside from the spinny cup seats, they aren't. Great for super littles.
moved to the end of the list for suspense
Short round lighted pedestals with shaded covering. Kid rest stop? Idk.
Oran Good got bathrooms!
This is the 2-5 age area. Very cool. Very interactive. Multiple musical components. Today and last night, that's where all the teens hung out and so f-bombs were flying like crazy and if I didn't have a foul mouth...I would've been mad as hell.
(REVISITED) 3. Welcome to Thunderdome. There are no rules for this lawless 3-tiered sphere of chaos sat atop a steep six-foot rubber hill. No more spoilers for this one...but I will say to look out for the 9 year old ginger kid wearing Jordans. I'm pretty sure he runs it because he was sitting on the OUTSIDE of the slide on the 2nd level but I'm not positive because I was afraid to make eye contact with him.
My little dude is almost 5 and I won't be just sitting on the parent bench there...at least not until it dies down a bit. I was a foot away today and he still got round-housed in the arm by an adult falling down a hill in the 2-5 area... no joke. Overall, very cool face-lift for the OG. I hope the cool equipment withstands the abuse.
Hope this helps anyone that...
Read moreAs a child this park was known as "the park with the big hill." That hill is still there. As an adult the hill feel so much smaller but it's still a pretty big hill. Anyone who grew up in the area will appreciate how the park has changed and kept a few of the hold items to play on. The tuck is still there and the large cement tunnels. The park has two areas to play. One for older kids and for younger kids. The smaller kids area is shielded from the sun. There is a sidewalk that runs though the park and around it for those who would like to walk but not stray too far. There used to be work area on the sidewalk. If you wanted to the sidewalk goes all the way to the library and you will find various exorcise "equipment" along the way. The park also sits next to a large creek. There is not fence or wall keeping kids away but the view is nice and you will find ducks or turtles there. At one point people used to fish there. I am not sure if that still happens. Overall the park is nice and is a great place to go. For the record, across the street is the City Hall and the park there has all the same stuff...

There was about 2 million parents and 5 million kids of all ages
You will spend most of your time looking for your children (Paradise for kidnappers!!)
There was 2 of us and could barely keep up with one 7 year old- it would take us time before we could spot him; we left in fear of him possibly being taken and it would be too late before we realized because of all the chaos and overcrowding
Too too overcrowded and the park is small. The main attraction center sphere piece gets too over crowded to the point where my child was not able to reach the top (only made it to the 2nd level) kids would get stuck in the small space, some trying to go up some trying to go back down because they couldn’t make it to the top. First level is not covered/no mesh- so kids can fall off. You will spend most of your time anxiously looking for your children . Too overcrowded and the space is not enough to meet demand.
They are open from 6 AM- I suggest you try then.
I only managed to get few closed up photos...
