Detroit Burger Bar — Restaurant in Farmington Hills

I had a terrible experience at this place on 3/22. The day before, I placed a order for traditional buffalo wings & chili cheese waffle fries. The wings were not wings at all, they were the little wing dings that you find at coney islands or diners dipped in buffalo sauce. They were disgusting in my opinion, so much bread, barely any meat. The waffle fries were okay, kind of soggy and not crispy whatsoever. On 3/22, the day after I bought the food, I called at 1:41pm and asked to speak to a manager. The lady who answered the phone said to wait one second and another lady picked up the phone who I assumed was the manager. She told me she apologized for my experience and she could remake the food or give me a free burger, I opted for the burger because the food wasn't good to me so I didn't want that again. She said to give her one second while she went to the office so she could take my name down. I gave her my name, she apologized again and told me when I place my order just let them know she had written my name down(The phone call between me and her lasted SEVEN minutes). Okay, fast forward to 2:59, I call to place my order and I let the lady know that I was coming to get my free burger. So she says hold on and I guess she went to go tell the real manager which was a guy. He proceeded to get on the phone with me, I explain what happened and he tells me that nobody told me they were going to put my name down for a free burger. I started to get frustrated because he basically told me I was lying about the lady from earlier telling me that. I asked to speak to a higher up and he insisted he was the highest person in charge. After he continues to go back and forth with me he tells me he can issue a refund. I said great i'll pick it up today. He says well give me your order information and i'll call you back in a few minutes after I find your order. Never called back. So i Call up there and ask what's going on and all of a sudden he can't find my order. I physically walked in there yesterday to pick my food up and paid so how can't you find my order? So I go up there and bring my receipt and he's just stunned because He thought I made up the whole thing. He gave me my refund but it's ridiculous I had to go through all of that in the first place. I went for the breakfast buffet they had advertised on the sign in front. The sign originally said $10 Sat til 2pm, $11 Sun til 3pm. When I got there Sunday at 2pm they had blacked out the prices on the sign. I went inside & the buffet had already been taken down more than an hour earlier than what it still said on the sign, so I asked about the price & was told that it is now $12. I guess no one cared about changing the sign to reflect the 1:30pm take down. I left as did 2 other people who had come for the buffet. I'd have to say that the poor management probably cost them at least 3 new customers. Kind of a "bait & switch" false advertising if you ask me. It's the first real sign I've had that this newer place is a step up from the dive bar it used to be under the previous name since the new name Detroit Burger Bar certainly didn't entice me to check it out. And why "Detroit" in the name since it's in Oakland County across from a Western Wayne County suburb not far from Farmington Road, so many miles from the Detroit border. Many people in this area don't want to have anything to do with Detroit. Also, there are certainly too many burger & pizza places for my taste in the area so I thought the breakfast buffet was a good idea, but not if some greedy inconsiderate manager was going to treat me that way. So my fiance orders an order and goes and picks it up and gets home she gets all the food inside and we opened it up and it's none of our food. So we call after opening all these different boxes have been thinking maybe we just got something extra an accident no big deal even though it was something that we didn't want just going about whatever but none of it was ours so we call and let them know and we can hear the other people that got our food as we get their food as we let the person on the other line know what has happened. They wanted us to take the food that they handed to a nother person that left the building with it and then came back to get their food. Even outside of a pandemic time that is unsatisfactorily in violates food code for sure. Now it's my understanding that most places if not all places should be served safe certified and that is not at all under their guidelines. The simple fact that the said that to us and then kind of gave us a problem about it is mind boggling. Quite honestly I can't trust these people to handle my food now because these are the type of people that would take food back over the counter after it's already crossed and reuse it if necessary.
