The food here used to be acceptable but now the quality has dropped significantly. I urge you to look elsewhere for Chinese food. Nevertheless, my biggest complaint is with the shady business practices and the extremely rude staff. We received the bill with the restaurant already including a purported 20% tip. We asked nicely if they can please remove this and hand us a new bill, as it was our intention to tip in cash; moreover, the included tip on the original bill was miscalculated as it determined the tip amount from the sum of the food cost and the tax. We were told by the staff, in a manner that was attempting to be intimidating, that our request could not be accommodated, as their computer system automatically adds the tip and they are incapable of producing a proper bill. Not wanting to cause a scene in their restaurant, we begrudgingly handed over our credit card to the staff. After processing payment, they, incredibly, handed us a receipt with a final amount that was 25 cents higher than previously quoted as they, without consent, increased the tip. We find this ridiculous and hence will be disputing the bill with our credit card company.
One more thing I would like to mention is how this establishment handles their pricing of hot tea. Two people in our party of eight ordered tea. We received exactly one pot of tea with a single tea bag and along with it eight tea cups and were charged on the final bill for eight units of tea - even though we only had ever received a single low quality tea bag and hot water. During the aforementioned payment disagreement the staff also refused to fix this blatant overcharging.
We previously held this restaurant in high regard and even recommended it to our friends, but now those days are over. The decline in food quality, staff friendliness, ethical businesses standards means we will take our...
Read moreUpdate: The food is still pretty decent. But somehow the service has dropped to very poor. I went to eat with ten of my friends today and I was very disappointed with the service. I was first to put my order in only to be served when the meal was almost over. Then to add insult to injury the waitress didn't even bother to put in the second half of my order which was a simple shrimp fried rice. I ended up having it wrapped to go. The point of coming there was to eat with my friends not get my meals to go. Somehow the table next to us seated twenty minutes after got their meals before me!! They are in desperate need of better servers. Or at least ones with better memories.
Excellent Asian Cuisine!!! I have Ben here four times already. My only regret is I keep forgetting to take pictures of my meals!! I just dig in too fast. I like trying the authentic as well as the American entrees. I haven't been disappointed yet. I've tried the boiled dumplings, spicy shrimp dry pot, spicy whole fish and they all were great. They were super busy during Christmas and still everything was great. I love looking at what's coming out of the kitchen to see what I would like next. I think I'll try the lamb spine next and a different side dish. I hope the menu changes seasonally. I look forward to trying different entrees. ❤️❤️ Update: I tried the Lambs Spine Hot Pot It was great! Way too much for one person...
Read moreHad the best experience with one of the most impeccable and efficient waitresses I’ve experienced in a very long time, but what in all blew the experience as a whole was when, I’m guessing the owner. You know the heavy set woman with the broad shoulders took it upon herself to greet, speak, make conversation and eye contact with every single oriental customer at each table, after numerous rounds. The restaurant was dominated by mostly oriental consumers.
Yea I watched you!
However being the only black consumer in the room she came to our table last after making numerous friendly greetings with the other tables. At last she came to our table and with out making eye contact with the adults she began talking to my youngest son and reminiscing about how she remember him from when he was so small afterwards I noticed she then lowered her eyes and asked us you know the rest of the people at the table was everything okay? We didn’t reply because we didn’t know if she was taking to us because she never bothered to look us in the eye. She went on to collect our plates and then walked away where she began yet another round of friendly, eye contact greetings
I’ve been a customer for years that rarely dines in and I don’t feel my family or did anything to deserve the treatment we received last night besides being black
Thanks for the...
