We came here for the first time tonight with friends. We had been to the Auburn Hills location. This location is much bigger. It was clean, checking in was easy. Socks are required for all kids and adults. You can buy them on site if needed. They also have plenty of snacks and drinks available. Being a Saturday evening it was very busy and there were several birthday parties going on. Unfortunately my kids didn’t enjoy themselves because many of the kids were rude and mean. Many didn’t follow rules for using the equipment. Many were pushing other kids running up slides. Of course parents were no where to monitor and were to busy socializing to care that their kids were being little jerks. These were kids old enough to know better. At one point I was watching my son go on the scooter that goes down the bumpy slide. While several kids were going down a little one about a year old walked into the landing and almost got hit by a child coming down. I quickly grabbed him and got him out of the way. A few minutes later he was back and almost got hit again. I took his hand and asked him to take me to his mom. He walked me all the way to the other side of the room! Mom was sitting down socializing. I told her he almost got hit twice and she didn’t seem to care. I couldn’t believe she let that baby wander that big place by himself unattended with so many kid’s running all over. There is a very large and enclosed area just for toddlers. It’s disgusting to me that my kids are of age that I don’t have to constantly keep an eye on them every second. They were taught manners and kindness. Unfortunately parents these days are lazy and don’t care about their kids so here I am having to parent other peoples kids and monitor their safety. My kids don’t want to come back after their experience tonight. I did at one point talk to a staff member about the rowdy kids and they handled it the best they could. Staff was friendly and helpful but I believe there needs to be more of them when there are so many people there at once. They need at least 1-2 in the play area monitoring kids and making sure rules are being enforced. They didn’t feel safe here. It’s a fun place but only when everyone is playing safely. We probably won’t be going back at least not during...
Read moreMy family attended a birthday celebration at this venue on a Saturday afternoon. The facility was well-maintained with ample seating for parents to relax while the children enjoyed various activities. However, there were a couple of concerning incidents in the electric motorcycle area where a staff member was observed displaying unprofessional behavior towards young children.
During our visit, we witnessed this staff member raising their voice, displaying negative body language, and reprimanding children between the ages of 3 and 7. I found this behavior unsettling and felt the need to intervene when I observed the staff member yelling at a very young child.
Additionally, the host of the party we attended mentioned that one of the staff members offered a substantial discount for cash payment, despite a sign at the entrance stating that staff do not accept cash from customers and won’t ask for cash at anytime. Furthermore, the garbage cans were overflowing throughout our entire visit, which made clean up difficult.
On a more positive note, the appearance of a person in a dinosaur costume excited the children. However, while waiting in line for a photo opportunity, I observed some rough handling of a toddler (pushing her away by her face) by the person in the costume, which was concerning.
Overall, while the venue had its positive aspects, there were some instances of unprofessional behavior and operational issues that detracted from our...
Read moreKids Empire in Farmington Hills offers a fantastic and clean play space that my child and their friends really enjoyed. However, the experience with the birthday party arrangements was significantly disappointing, leading to a one-star review due to awful customer service and miscommunication.
Despite opting for their decor package, we were shocked to find that no forks were provided for the birthday cake. This was especially frustrating as I had called a week prior to the party and was explicitly told by the party person that utensils would be included. When my husband inquired on the day of, the staff simply suggested he go to the Dollar Tree in the same plaza to purchase them himself! This left us with a group of children unable to eat their cake due to their lack of preparedness and the dismissive attitude of the staff.
Additionally, we encountered issues with the goodie bags, which we were told were unavailable due to overbooking on the corporate end, despite having booked and paid in advance.
While the play area itself is a definite plus, I strongly recommend that anyone considering a birthday party here should expect the bare minimum, even when paying extra for their services and confirming details in advance. Be prepared to bring absolutely everything yourself to avoid significant disappointment, miscommunication, and a complete lack of support...
