Up until now it has been pretty ok service, this gamestop is the closest one to my home. I have the warranty on my Xbox controllers because it's a good deal and it's convenient when the controller starts to drift or have issues. I have never had an issue exchanging my controller, if they don't have the exact one they usually find another one of the same value. I was told today that they didn't have my controller so i said thats fine, could i get a different one of the same value and the lady working said it's store policy that they cannot exchange it for a different one of the same value. I was surprised as no other employee has ever said this and I believe I have worked with the manager before as I exchange them about once a month for over a year now. She said she didn’t want to lose her job so i needed to go to a different location. If it is the policy, I don't blame this employee but I do blame the other employees for giving a false standard for the entire year and a half I have been doing this with my controllers. This controller doesn't work and the next location is 20 minutes from my home so it is very inconvenient. So to the store manager or owner, you really should either set a standard amongst all employees or just allow the exchange because it's the same value and same controller, just a different color. I've never had an issue, no resistance, no mention of like "Hey we can make an exception this time but we're not supposed to", nothing. So I had the false expectation that this was an easy process. Read moreIf i could give 0 stars, I would. I've used this gamsetop for over a decade. When i recently bought my ps4 pro and had issues about 3 months into it's lifetime. I had to send it to playstation because it was still under warranty (gamestop took 2 months to get me my reciept). In the meantime i bought a ps4 slim from them so i would have a system. Ive since gotten my ps4 pro back (playstation fixed it within a week). I went to trade in the ps4 slim today not return it and the employee went on to explain why they couldnt give me the full $200 trade value because he would need to charge over $50 for a "refurbishing fee" for some small scratches around the USB port. if it was refurbished when i bought it 3 months ago then the stratches wouldn't be there. I take excellent care of my things and i have no kids or anything like that. When Justin the manager left this location about a year back he unfortnately took the customer service with him. This location doesnt know what customer service means anymore. Do youself a favor and go anywhere else. There are plenty of places to sell/trade/buy games. I personally love disc replay in livonia about 5-6 miles from this location and they always give great service....
Read moreI was greeted on 2/26/25 and asked a sales associate to look at some cards that were locked. She asked what I needed all of them for, and I explained it to her and then she then explained she needed to ask her manager. When her manager appeared I explained why I was wanting all of the card packs at once, she then with attitude and disgust and no care said "you're not allowed to do that, and it isn't fair to others" I then retorted back "can you show me in the gamstop rules/guidelines where I'm breaking rules and then I won't do it". Her only response basically was "I don't care, im not allowing it". Long story short, what I was asking to do wasn't illegal in any way shape or form according to gamestop rules or even retail rules, and these two employees were very rude towards me before during and after this altercation and I will never return to this location ever again and tell others also. Gamestop needs to retire just like when they bought out Funkoland, if I could've given zero stars...
