This place looks good, but I think this place is not favorable to me. Due to the persisting risk of the COVID-19 pandemic, I just don't want to continue the membership until the risk is totally gone in one or two years. I also have some alternative method that works with me. (Home training , Apartment Gym, and Nintendo Switch Ring Fit)
I joined this gym one or two years ago through the sales person, who was the staff of my previous gym. (I switched from the previous gym because of the new horrible manager of that gym and his horrible management.)
This place is managed very well. In other words, facilities are clean, and supplies such as cleaning wipes are usually well replenished. (The supply was little bit in short after the COVID-19 pandemic especially on 2020 Jan - Mar)
The one critical good advantage is having massage machines. Although the number of machines are so limited (one chair massage and one Hydromassage bed), but they were so good to do after I complete my exercise routine.
They also has some cardio exercise room with theater. Although I cannot choose the movie I can watch, but they usually play fine movies to exercise with. There is no subtitle on the screen, so non-native English users might have some difficulty to watch though.
The facility is good with fine equipments. There are tissues and hair dryers to use at the locker room. The shower room also looks good, but it is hard to find the space to hang towels and clothes while I am taking shower after the exercise. I have to be careful to avoid water from touching clothes and towels.
One disadvantage for me is that the cost of personal training. I don't know how other gyms charge for personal training, but the cost of that is clearly expensive than my previous gym. The total cost with personal training would be similar with the cost of any other premium/luxury gyms.
Personal Trainer usually sells nutritions and protein supplements a lot, so you may need to speak up to stop selling. Also, they are so hard on the fitness goal and so obsessed about this. I sometimes have low energy to lift the weight, and some of my muscle are not strong enough, but he pushed so hard, so this attitude discourages my motivation to keep up with.
Also, I was not able to use the equipment of 'special Edge Strong Class room' while the class is not ongoing. The equipment outside the classroom is lacked, and the space for stretching is not wide enough to me. There are lots of people there, so it is difficult to relax. I think it is better to stretch and relay at home with my own equipments.
Staffs are generally kind and great.
Quitting membership is kind of a hassle. You have to contact the gym staff for detailed instruction, but you have to deal with ABC Finance company, which is governing basic membership. You have to contact that company via email, and they are trying to avoid taking your request. You may need to take strong stance based on their response.
I will keep my eyes on my credit card account to check whether they charge the fee or not after I terminate...
Read moreI came to this gym with a friend to ask about membership pricing and amenities. We were greeted by the GM who, after saying why we were there, said she would hand us off to another employee. We just wanted some info but that was fine. The membership person we spoke with was all business from out of the gate. She barely said hello and then asked us if we had given them our identification or signed a waiver yet. We were immediately confused because we were just there to ask some questions and maybe get a tour. She seemed annoyed and made us feel like we were stupid even though she didn’t explain the process at all. We weren’t asked any questions until the end. They wanted all of our information and gave us none. We scanned a QR code because that’s what we were told to do and then She started walking us through the facility. She was talking about the equipment and various tiers of membership which have specific names that we were not privy to because, again no info. Most of the time her back was turned so I couldn’t catch all that she was saying over the music. She hurriedly walked us through each section spitting out very specific info that just left me feeling confused. And quite honestly her disposition left a lot to be desired. We got back to her cubicle and she showed us a computer screen with pricing. We had to ask multiple questions about what was covered under each one because it was not clear. My friend asked twice if they had a print out and we were told we could look it up on line. At that point I felt like such a nuisance that I just wanted to leave. I waited at the front for a minute or two to speak with the GM about it but she was on the phone and at that point I just wanted to go. The interaction was so off that I didn’t even know what to say. It’s a shame because it seems like a nice gym that offers a lot of amenities but I can’t get past the way we were treated. For reference we had just gone to planet fitness to get their information and the people were very friendly, straightforward, and answered any questions we had as we went through the process. There gym is smaller with less bells and whistles but i so appreciate their...

They continued to charge me after my 1 year agreement and refused to issue my refund knowing I did not agree to a 2 year agreement and that I would be at a different location. Their reasoning was it happens automatically even though they leave that part out of the contract before you sign.
Their contracts are not to be trusted, all they care about is hitting you with fees and deductions as much as they can and could care less about the circumstances as long as they can deduct money.
Lauren the general manager refused to give me a refund after explaining I never agreed to a 2 year contract.
She also said the only way I could cancel my membership is by going down there to do it even though I moved away and was no longer in the area to be able to go down there directly. (Turned out to be a lie).
After telling Lauren the general manager I would leave feedback she threatened to use my confidential information at the gym against me ( in a under your breath kind of tone) then hung up. When I called back she refused to speak. Left the phone on and didn't answer. This happened 3 times. She has no business being a manager and should be fired. Extremely unprofessional and there are far better gyms out there.
When I called to talk to someone the 4th time about this there were no corporate numbers to call, just an email. Marques the associate(who claimed to also be a manager) gave me an inaccurate email to contact corporate and lied about her whereabouts when I requested to speak to Lauren after she hung up on me.
So where's the accountability if you have General Managers threatening members (which is a breach of contract and confidentiality) and refusing refunds for charges that should never have occurred? Is this ethical?
They also make it very difficult to cancel your membership. You have to call a number, and the gym wont give you the number, they'll pretend they don't have it.
THIS IS A VERY DIRTY WAY TO RUN A GYM AND TREAT IT'S MEMBERS. WONT BE...
