Hunt's Dairy Bar — Restaurant in Farmington

I'm leaving 4 stars instead of 5 due to the service we received. My family and I are there on a Saturday afternoon at about 4:00. Not particularly busy, but a steady flow of customers. It was a beautiful day out so we chose to get out of the car and eat at one of the picnic tables. My family of 4 placed our order of Hamburgers and fries, nothing out of the ordinary. We patiently waited for our food while other customers came and went. After about 10 minutes of waiting we, were noticing that vehicles that arrived and ordered their food After we had already ordered was getting their food and leaving. There was about 6 or 7 to come and go after we had already placed our orders. I finally had enough, after probably 20 minutes wait for burgers and fries I asked the waitress if our food was ready. She stated "Oh sure, yours is up next" and almost immediately brought it out. And you guessed it, cold food. One of my daughters had ordered cheese fries that were inedible due to the melted cheese hardening back up making a solidified chunk of cheese with fries embedded in it. First let me say we love hunts food and we always try to support local. We take walks pretty much everyday (me and 4 small children) we stop usually every other day and get burgers, tacos, fries, ice cream, and sodas. It is so refreshing to be able to walk/roller blade with my children to the skate park. And stop at a local burger joint! Fond memories have been made thus far. Anyway we stopped today and approached a woman with reddish hair and asked if we could have 4 small cups of water and she said not for free. I'm sorry, but we always stop get water while we look for what we want. Then she proceeded to talk about me as we walked away because I will absolutely not going to be talked to or treated that way! Customer service is something that makes or breaks it for me! Unfortunately since moving to Farmington there are a few places we won't go to anymore because of the customer service. The ice cream man is another one we will not support. If we do decide to ever eat or get ice cream again from hunts I will refuse service from her! Very...

I never really had a problem with this place. Great food ! I'm just a little disappointed in what just happened. We are homeless, have been since around the 8th . Yes, I know the world doesn't owe us anything. We did not ask for food or money. I simply tried to get a glass of water. WATER. And because we did not have the $0.45 to pay the car hop looked at us and said " Sorry guys" and walked away. We pulled off to the side of the lot and I had my boyfriend David to take a dirty cup out of the truck and take over there and ask if he could get water with his cup. Thank goodness he came back with water. I am getting dehydrated quickly. And yes, we have jobs but payday is a bit off from now. And have had to sleep in the truck or throw a tent somewhere. I'm not meaning to complain. It just really a disappointment that someone chose . 45 over helping someone with water. ...
