Tuesday evening meal. Restaurant was packed and nearly at max capacity, yet service was quick and food came out hot without issue.
The complimentary chips and salsa are good. Requested hot salsa and received two different “hot” salsas. Neither were very hot, but both options were flavorful and unique in their own way. Tables had a two versions of a quality readily available hot sauce (Yucateco) that’ll bring some heat if desired.
For entrees we ordered the carne encebollada, taco salad, burrito casa grande (shredded chicken), and street tacos (one steak, one shrimp, and one fish).
The carne encebollada was extremely flavorful, a really great dish. Highly recommend.
First and foremost, the restaurant heard us when we expressed the following - The taco salad was not our thing, zero seasoning in the hamburger making it a very bland dish. The components were very fresh and the portion size was great for the price. Taco salad components needed drained a lot more, the amount of fluids soaked the shell making it undesirable. Early on in our meal the waiter asked if everything was to our liking, my wife said they could take her barely touched taco salad; explaining why it wasn’t her thing. They said they’d bring something else, she declined (I was sharing my carne encebollada, there was plenty for us both). Another employee visited us to see if they could rectify the issue, declined again. Shortly thereafter we were brought tres leches cake, on the house. Afterwards we realized unseasoned taco salad might be a local thing, second or third restaurant we’ve experienced this in the area recently.
Burrito casa grande - Huge amount of food for a very low price (about 10.50). My granddaughter cleaned her plate, thoroughly enjoyed the meal.
Street tacos - flavorful food at a great price. Huge fan of the extra toppings on the side as it lets the consumer tweak each to their own taste. I’ve seen it served in this manner at much higher price points, never at this bargain price.
Refried beans and rice - comes with, or can be added to, every entree. Both of these items are worth getting every time, Casa Grande adds stuff to each making them both very desirable.
Tres Leches cake - one of the best we’ve ever had. Only other tres leches we’ve had in our travels throughout the U.S. that was close to this good was in Texas.
All employees were awesome and very friendly, so much so that we added the cost of the entree and dessert to our tip to make sure they knew their professionalism and service were truly...
Read moreWe went to Casa Grande South Point for the first time, and I was thoroughly impressed with both their food and service. They started dinner by bringing us fresh, warm chips. So many places make a batch of chips and try to make it last as long as they can, and you end up eating stale chips. These were wonderful, and the salsa was delicious. The meals arrived quickly and were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Given that this is during the Covid 19 pandemic, I especially appreciated how they took the time to print and provide disposable paper menus for their guests. Their menu also stated very clearly that some prices would be different because of shortages and price hikes by suppliers. Most importantly, the hospitality of the wait staff was outstanding. They made us feel as if we were coming over to their house for dinner. Since it was our first visit to the restaurant, they impressed us by bringing a slice of cheese cake as a 'thank you for coming' gesture. Again, I was completely impressed by their food and generous hospitality and would highly...
Read moreThis is Hands down the best Mexican restaurant in the tri-state area and beyond. After u have been there a few times then the staff greats you like family or an old friend. This place is so good that very few times do u see the parking lot empty or even with a few cars in it. The staff are always friendly & the decor is always great to look at even the waiting room. This is a restaurant that has been there for a few years & still haven't lost there touch if anything there just gaining more momentum. New items are added & old ones are taken away they now serve alcoholic beverages tastefully so it doesn't look like a bar. It's always awesome to see Carlos (the amazing owner) greeting everyone like family almost everyday & on special occasions you'll catch Francisco his brother ( owner of Fratelli's) there as well... two amazing people. So in short... go to "la Increíble" Casa Grande... where the the food is hotter then the chilly sauce & the boss is a cat named Carlos. You will come...
